Title: 1 second screen freezes
Post by: caldera on August 20, 2025, 05:08:56 AM
Been getting these almost every sortie since coming back to the game in May.  Using the same computer from six years ago, but with a smaller, less demanding monitor.  Just cleaned the dust out of the case, to no effect.

Frame rate is 59.  Most graphics settings are off or at minimum.  Turning it all off made no difference.  in 2019, most settings were maxed.

Other skins and download of skins is off.

Seems to be more frequent over water.  Happens most often right at the point I have a shot on somebody.

If you’re not using VR Try using the DX9 version exe.

Yes try the DX9 version of the game, there are 2 ways to do it.

There is a conflict with the game and DX11 for some people, and always has been. By using the DX9 version of the game its a work around that just forces the game to use the DX9 in windows. Graphic wise you dont lose anything.

I've been having the same issue for probably close to a year now.

I have been using the DX9 version for several years, ever since the original micro stutter issue. Which the DX9 version did resolve for me. This screen freeze is something different.

My current system is all AMD, but I was having the issue with my previous system that was an Intel cpu, AMD gpu. I don't believe that the problem is associated with brand of cpu/gpu as one of my squadies has the same issue and I believe he is running an Intel/Nvidia combination.

My frame rates are steady, my connection is solid. This happens in both win10, and 11. Personally I think it has something to do with one of the windows updates that occurred around the time that these freezes started, but I have no proof that is the case. Just a hunch, or habit of blaming windows for unexplained issues.
