Hello,
I am trying to download the new map currently to get into the game. The game itself when opened slows the mouse down and takes an extremely long time to download. I did a network speed test getting 650 download 462 upload for speeds.. It seems to be isolated to just the game..Is there an issue with the server?
Until I try and join the MA, the lobby doesnt lag, and when I press to download it goes from 18 mbps download and slowly dwindles to .5

You can run a ping /tracert. I don’t have address to use in front of me.
I had that happen once, never happened since

Sounds good I’ll give that a try if it happens again. Luckily I had a meeting but it took about 21 minutes to download

I’m not too sure. I did a few checks like speed test, reset computer, closed game out. I found it was only the download after it finished game was fine no lagging. And while downloading if it was minimized all other browsers and things connected to the internet worked as they should. It’s all set now because it’s downloaded just was stumped and hope it doesn’t happen again. Felt like how long it took back when I had dial up haha

FWIW just the other day I had just opened my computer and checked my e-mail and read some forums without issues, meaning the performance was sufficient to those tasks. Then I thought I'd zero my brain by playing some online Mahjong on a familiar site. For some reason the page loaded veeeery slowly, only the symbols on the tiles were showing which was unplayable as the tiles were transparent. Restarting my browser helped a bit but the page still loaded slowly. After all the elements were there the game played smooth as butter. Don't know if the browser was updating in the background or something else, the 300/300 optical fibre connection should be stable as a rock.
Computers are definitely feminine. They can get mad at you for no obvious reason. And kiss and hug you the next moment.

Yeah..I had someone else text me without knowing I posted this saying they’re getting on but the map is downloading slowly like mine. He’s down in the Carolina’s I’m up in NH, so it wasn’t many of us but still was happening to others. Who knows though could’ve been a case that my computer was updating and his was too?

HT has some files where they take forever to download most of the time for most of us out here with otherwise very fast connections..
Sadly one of those files is required for a new install of the game..
It has happened to me on numerous occasions..New maps do it to but they are small files compared to the required installation file..
I guarantee the slow d/l when it happens has turned off potential customers before they even got it going..

I agree eagler that it has steered new players away. I myself returned from 2007/8 and have been surprised at how low the numbers have gotten but another subject for another section. But good to know it’s not just me

Happened to me, I noticed two things which helped.
1 background updates were going on and I didn't realize
2 sometimes clicking "resume later" and restarting made download go faster, had to do this like 5-6 times to complete download
Not very helpful, but safe to say it is not your network

I did the resume thing as well and checked background updates that had none going but yes I agree it’s definitely not a network issue for this. It would be good to know what causes it

By "network issue" I meant the entire network, your connection from your router all the way to HTC.
Im in central MA and I have 13 hops to the HTC webpage server. I dont know what the address is for the game server is but Im sure I have atleast that many to it also. Any one of the servers along that route could get clogged with a ton of traffic and slow a download down. Sometimes waiting for a bit to let it clear works (may have been what happened with Bolt), other times you can suffer through. Like I said, Hitech hasnt any control over those hops. Its the luck of the draw your path to a server.
As long as HTC keeps their server and connection as good as it can be (and it seems they are, mine downloaded in under 2 minutes) that is all they can do.
