The last week or so the Rooks have been restricted by very high enys early to mid prime time.
It has hit 29 a few times. Is 29 as high as it goes?
-
I think so, Never seen it higher

I'm pretty sure that's as high a it goes. If I recall correctly the Mossie is 30 eny and I was never affected by eny once I started flying it.

funny you should say that....
Tonight a server wide reset took place. At the time 8 Bishops, 22 knights and 23 rooks were in the MA. Everybody was booted and only half the player base returned. 4 Bishops, 13 knights, 11 rooks. Tonight I watched a player blatantly shade cheat out of desperation.
Manipulating the game's eny system using multiple accounts and/or shade cheating continues to happening... the burden of proof isnt on me to prove it. I as well as rook and knight nightime players experience it regularly.
Funny when an entire country can log out just to drive up eny while the rest switch countries and sit in tower just to have everyone booted and eny be under 15 from 22.
ENY is legitimate abused nowadays and has been for a long time. The ol switch sides to balance only reinforces this abuse.

Can you explain what you mean by this and how the side switcher thing isn't helping?

Half the player base came back after reset, which put the proportions pretty close to what they were before that. Where is the problem?
You could have switched to bishops and flown B-29s to your heart's content.
So, it was ENY's fault that this player supposedly cheated?

Answer:
Fly earlier planes :airplane:

Of course it is! As you are the only one in here accusing someone of "blatantly shade cheat out of desperation". Screen shots and film are easy enough to post or report. If you are not going to bother to do those things then dont bother coming here slinging accusations around.
"Film or it didnt happen!". Accusations are not good for the game.

What is a shade cheat?

the court of public opinion has no influence on the subject. I do not need to prove anything to share with the community what I and others experience while playing the game. Accusations may not be good for the game but shade cheating and stacking accounts/tower sitting to drive up eny is out right sabotaging the MA.
Last night revealed the extent of ENY abuse when everyone was booted out of the MA. There were only a dozen active players on both knights and rooks at the time of reset despite having twice as many logged into the game.
ENY is abused and broken. Shade cheating still exists. I owe nothing but my observations. There were 5 bishop players who switched to knighrs last night and sat in tower inactive at the time of reset.
A deteriment to this game is driving up eny to restrict a country from access to a majority of the plane/gv set available.

Curious
What time was this reset?
-
I guess your not showing any proof because you have no proof. All you have are your paranoid delusions. You have no way to prove tower sitters are sitting in the tower to screw with ENY. Some tower sit while of to the can, store for beer, or any other reason they have to step away. Answer me this, does AH have an auto login setup? After a dump/map reset all those tower sitters would have to log back in right?
There isnt any way to prove players are switching to drive up ENY. Who would switch countries, for 6 hours, in the hope their one body would push ENY over the line for any reasonable amount of time? There are still plenty of side switchers that do so to look for a fight, even if they dont use the "auto switch" feature.
There any number of reasons for what you believe is "hade cheating and stacking accounts/tower sitting to drive up eny is out right sabotaging the MA". Unless you have proof then again it is only speculation on your part and really has no place here.

IMO
If there is a map win, night time, reset between 9p-10p, my chances of logging back in diminish. Those are immersion breaks. That pattern exist with many.
As Fugi said, various reasons why I tower sit while AFK. I’ve gotten up to do something forgetting I was logged on for an hour.
This is no more predictable as why someone is running away. Out of ammo, damaged with kills, extending, actually just wants to land kills and or just a runner. But fact is, we can’t determine why without asking.
People get fixated on specific issues and doctor shop a way to justify or “prove” a need for change. ENY, 2 countries, plane selection to mid war (usually 109 pilots). And frankly, not to be insulting, mostly a pattern of conspiracy theorist on various subjects. But this one time is going to prove it, after the last 10 failed. Same players repeating the same subjects.
Never say never, but,..
1) ENY is not going away
2) 2 countries will not happen
3) players pay $15 to fly what they want , Fads will cycle.
4) a lot of high scores are sometimes also high HOs and time spent.
Fixations are codependent to feed the need to be angry. Pick any subject, look hard enough snd you’ll find something “wrong”.
Adapt.
No offense intended :)

Eny has been a feces fest for 2 decades. it doesn't do Jack to balance sides and it just drives people away from the game.
Why change sides when you can change games and not have to deal with the frustrating Bovine feces that is ENY?
-
Some of you take this all way too seriously and play way too much. Less than 100 people are generally playing at any time. Just play or don’t. Try touching grass now and then.

Related but slightly off topic: would requiring players to fly a plane above ENY 5 be that bad say after 5 sorties? Ex: on sortie 6th you must fly ENY = 10+ for one sortie (Tier I), you get 1 ENY 5 credit for that sortie, fly next tier ENY (12?) you get two, fly next tier ENY (III - 20+) you get three 5 ENY credits. And on…
I know my ENY numbers aren’t perfectly correlated to their MA values, it’s the point here, it’s the general idea that we have a system that doesn’t function as great as it once did with 80+ on each side going at it.
This idea of course is going to be opposed by the ENY 5 only pilots, but how can they say they want realism and that’s what sets AH apart when for the majority of WW2, the ENY 5 planes, firstly weren’t built yet, and after they were it still wasn’t all Pony-D escort, or K-4s and Doras….
Also separate but more related, ENY values for GVs don’t correspond to their Fighter counterparts. Tiger II is our only ENY 5 (heavily perked of course) but they could correspond roughly to the aircraft that perform comparable/similar. Ex: P47M is somewhat like the Panther… Also, nearly all tank units for Germany were still rolling PzIVs w/the Panthers & Tigers to the very end and late war T34/85 were highly protected (I.e. not frontline foder = therefore fewer (yes there was a huge production discrepancy Germany vs USSR at end). T34/85 should roughly be the equivalent of the ENY 5 heavily perked fighters like Tempest.
HT, sir, you of course make these decisions, the best we can do is offer ideas, but if I may ask you to consider two things, one you’ve mentioned = dropping those in tower/lacking input from keyboard/mouse/stik after ~15mins only for ENY calculation (they don’t get booted). The second the Tiered ENY credit system I just mentioned. Afterall 5 sorties is a lot before the ENY 5 only guys would have to have just one Tier II+ sortie to get back in the ENY ride. Yes, some will choose a P-39 click N runway and then tower, but that hurts score and many of the ENY 5 pilots also care about their score. I’m flying for score this tour and I’m seeing many more are concerned with it than I thought.
I know you have more to consider than I can imagine, but maybe the Tier ENY credit system is an idea that leads to a better idea you design.
Thank you if you read my long-winded post!

7p-9p CT. Seen thing strong until 10 ish

I'll bet you a dollar that having folks in the tower not equating to eny would go a long ways...

always thought ENY should only factor those "in flight"

Doesn’t that only benefit the of the tower sitter who gets to pick a plane with a lower entry to join the game and make ent worse for the next guy?
-
Or just don't let the players decide at all. The game will put you on the side with lowest numbers at login automatically.
ENY is 100% a problem caused by the players and history has shown that they are unwilling to fix this. So now let the game control it seeing as how players are more concerned with country loyalty than the health of the game. You reap what you sow :salute
-

Imagine what would happen if 20 out of 25 players on one country sat in the tower, in order to launch a Tempest mission to steamroll the country that has 6 out of 7 players in the air.

And this would do away with all squads. Many player like to fly in squads, I know I do.

Well, what about the country with all the numbers have their factories brought down to 0%? Meaning no or limited fuel, ords, radar, troops and ack...except for manned guns. And low numbers countries factories brought up to 100% automatically, giving them the advantage in that way.
That would force the mob into strictly fighters...for the most part, and halt the base taking until numbers leveled out. In effect placing ENY on resources.
-
Heaven forbid any pilot might need to protect his country strats.
Lets remove more strategy from the sim like when 49ers took long trips to the strats and nobody could be bothered to simply up a fighter and look around.
Many of the whiners were whining from their spawn camps 15 sectors from the 5 tanks taking two days to drive to HQ and bomb it down.
Instead, the lazy vocal minority cried loudly resulting in vehicle dar which removed a lot of strategy and tactics from the sim.
Someone earlier is correct that it is the players to blame and he is correct.

With ENY as it is now your "limiting resources" in the form of the uber planes, kicking some people out of their favorite rides. Instead you propose to limit ALL resources to EVERYONE for the duration of the number imbalance. How is that better?
ENY works. Instead of taking one hvy fighter to drop a hanger, you need two and with the better numbers that works. There are only two problems with ENY .... first the crybabies that cant seem to fly a different fighter for what ever reason...... and second the numbers. I dont know what the threshold for ENY is, but lets say its 10%. With 100 players per side that would mean 10 players more than the other team starts ENY, with 10 players per side that means only one more play starts ENY. There is a low number threshold where ENY doesnt come in at all, but once population hits that number ENY is on.
So ENY seems horrible because the numbers are so low. It is still doing the job (limiting the team with the better numbers with out completely removing the planes from a player because they can still switch teams) but it can change with only a couple players logging in or out on the same team at the same time. This morning....
Bish have 13 players and a 17.6 ENY
Knights have 3 players and 0 ENY
Rooks have 7 players and 3.9 ENY
If finetime logs in with 3 accounts and one other knight logs in Rooks ENY goes away and Bish drops to around 8. It doesnt take a lot to swing the numbers. Removing the tower sitters from the ENY calculation may help (sit in the tower for more than 10-15 minutes and the game no longer counts you toward ENY) when the numbers are low.

Last time I played one of our competitors' games, Their solution to side balance
was a spawn in delay.
Your side outnumbers everybody else...
30 60 90 Sec.(or longer) Delay sitting on the runway exposed to enemy fire, when your side outnumbers everybody else.
May help break up useless furballs too.

Thanks Fugi! My suggestions were only for the sake of argument and to throw some ideas out there to see what sticks. Truth be told, I too have no problem with ENY as I prefer the P47s and P38 lines just for this very reason. My main playing style is in attack mode but if I was a pure dogfight guy, I feel like there are plenty of Spitfires in the line up to be effective in the air to air role as well. :salute

“Useless Furballs” are the whole point of the MA to me.

Once you forget about the idea of rtbing it's a much better game imo..
Landing is the exception not the goal..

One you aren't in or at least on your way to participate in.
One of my wife's cats is also a useless furball.

I understand how ENY works and stuff from reading about it ad nauseam. But what the hell do the letters ENY stand for?
I guess it rarely affects the FM2 and Brewster as I've never noticed it in action.
Sounds like tower lurkers have an effect on it. About a month ago I logged on at 22:00 PAC time only to see 11 people in the main arena. I figured there'd be a couple skirmishes I could make myself a target for but nope, nothing. The text buffer was blank and not a sole was in the air as far as I could tell. There was a person who frequently posts here in the arena and I hailed him a bunch of times in hopes he'd want to shoot me down and whatnot. He never replied and the text buffer remained silent. The only action was Dale's voice telling me my base was under attack. It wasn't.
As far as I can tell, based on that night, people forget to log off and they become tower lurkers.
I've seen other nights close to that. I saw a couple of nights where Yarbles was the only one in the air. I hailed him but he'd perhaps fallen asleep or didn't monitor 200.
I need to move east in order to be able to participate more during prime time.

Indeed it is. I enjoyed the entire state of Pennsylvania actually. Well, all the places on my meandering drive from Philadelphia to Pittsburg anyways. Beautiful with friendly folks at every stop.....I stopped a bunch.
