Title: Style and Sportsmanship
Post by: Busher on September 28, 2025, 07:45:24 PM
I play golf as many do... I was taught at an early age that golf is a gentleman's (inc lady's) game. In general I believe that sportsman should demonstrate as much grace in loss as they do in victory. Fans apparently feel that these ideals are meaningless.

Today during the Ryder Cup finals Heather McMahan, one of the host MC's with a microphone lead the fans in a loud chant of "F---you Rory" referring to Rory McIlroy. There is always a winner and a loser in sport... can't believe its turning into a bunch of mouthy "tools".

Whats next, face paint and boat horns?

These people lust for attention and resort to immaturity to get it. Not sure how making themselves shunned via stupidity works for that. “I want to be known as a loud mouth idiot”. Congrats on that success. Well done.

Personally, I’m exhausted with feeling embarrassed FOR the these type of people.

I’ve become convinced the human brain is devolving, these people act like chimps, no offense to chimps. They are proud of being stupid, because lazy minded and not thinking at all is much easier. These people avoided maturity with epic success. Well done.

Now I miss 12-20 hr days at work that spared me exposure to normalizing stupid.

"Nearly a third of Americans – 30% – say people may have to resort to violence in order to get the country back on track, according to the latest PBS News/NPR/Marist poll.

It’s a sharp rise from 18 months ago, when 19% of Americans said the same.
"

This is beyond comprehension.

Oddly enough, those most pushing for violence are the ones who most hate the 2A.

Having worked in marketing research I take polls with a grain of salt..

There's a huge gulf between assassinations and screaming f u and throwing bottles at golf tournaments...

The lack/decline of class and respect does lead to the decline of everything else though imo..

Consider the people in the white house and congress now and 18 months ago, and who is likely even more pissed off than before.....

They lost me here: "These attacks seemingly know no political or geographical bounds".

Pretty clear to me. Extremists on both sides of the debate and literally anywhere in the country.

Seems some want to divide us using any means possible..shoving those of us in the middle towards one extreme end or the other..

Used to be politics, race, religion and wealth...things we knew better than to discuss with everyone due to their diverse nature..

Heck we added gender to the list as I guess we didn't have enough to piss each other off about already...

Not so amazing some don’t like what they see when they see themselves in others.

In Back to the Future, Biff Tannen is punched by George McFly it was the highlight of the movie. Now Biff wants to play victim.

When one gets what they tempt people to do no one cares about the crocodile tears.

If yas think the guy in Knorb’s video needs a dentist appointment, now you understand.

The loud are in self convincing mode, the silent are thinking about the most efficient way to deliver it. Beware of the silent ones.

Ya get what ya pay for and the audience applauds.

Don't take my lack of rebuttal as agreement or lack of argument. I'm trying to abide by the rules here.

Only one side can commit $2 billion in damages all over the country crying like a bunch of brats and then continue to say "its both sides". But I digress... hey, if they want to keep assassinating strong political figures, who aren't even jn government. You can bet the other side is going to bite back with a vengeance one day. You cant poke the bear for too long and not expect it to strike back.
