U.S. Navy, 76-82
Normally I avoid "politics" but Im going to consider this a real question asked not for political BS, but for an honest opinion to the video.
First, I had not intended to watch the whole video, but was going to base my opinion off the clips in many news stories I have seen. However once I started watching I couldnt stop. I agree 100% with pretty much everything he said. The biggest issue I had was the "no beards" thing. When I was in the service you had to request permission to try and grow a beard and if after 6 weeks it still looked patchy and like crap you were ordered to return to shaving. If this is my "biggest issue" of the speech, you can guess at what I thought of the rest of it. :D
The rest however I truly believe. If a person cant pick up my wounded body and carry me back to help they should not be on front lines, male or female. If I am working to maintain physical shape so should our leaders. If a person in the service steps out of line they should be taken to task, because should they step out of line on the front it could cost many their lives.
When I was in the service I was lucky to have some great commanders. Squad commanders, ships captain, even shop leaders. You didnt need to be an Ahole to lead, you just needed to know how to do the jobs at hand. Most of the guys I worked for were worth the time and effort to get the jobs done right. My CO in boot camp didnt scream and yell and slap people around, but our company respected him and we were first in every accolade they handed out in camp. Back then there were consequences to stepping out of line, from being assigned crappy duty to being brought before the Captain. All told it created a strong more efficient force ready to do what was needed to get the job done.
I think going back to this is a good move. Weeding out those that are not able to require this type of discipline and dedication is a step forward in creating the best, strongest possible force for our country.

1.Everyone should be held to your standard for age and sex. If you fail, you have till your next test approximately 6 months to remedy the situation. Plenty of time. For Combat and direct support MOS there should be only ONE standard male or female. This is mission critical IMO. 2. You can be medically separated for a whole host of reasons. Being dependent on certain drugs is just one. So, if you chose to live a certain lifestyle that needs drugs to maintain that lifestyle the US government is not going to subsidize that. Especially if you are deployed and that drug for whatever reason can't be supplied due to circumstances. The whole point of uniforms, codes of conduct and procedures is to ensure if someone becomes mission incapable, someone else can be almost immediately plugged into that slot and the mission goes on.
3.The lock is incoming because crying Charlies gonna crying Charlie. Thank you for your attention on this matter.

I didn't watch it but I did hear excerpts from what he said. One thing I heard was that all service members had to meet the same fitness goals from privates to generals.
During my sentence, er enlistment in the late 80ies, early 90ies, I think the physical fitness standards had already begun to to slip and started being different for different ages and sexes. I think if you're going to have a "standard" that it needs to be standard across the board.
Of course this will be locked because it's not possible to have a reasonable discussion with people who are not reasonable :)

He's exactly right. The military is for fighting wars and the people that we hire to be in the military need to be physically fit and able to do that job. I'm so tired of the diversity and inclusion BS. And that's exactly what it is. A bunch of BS. Do you want your brain surgeon to be qualified to be a brain surgeon, or do you want them to be a brain surgeon that was allowed to be a brain surgeon because of diversity?
I'm so glad all of this woke crap is being cleaned up.
