I believe there are some ideas that buff duty is suicide due to restrictions by some silent majority players participating in FSO. This might account for low or no attendance for Hour 1 start and significant drop off for Hour 2.
It's a shame that this happens. I would like to suggest a possible reversal of this dilemma.
High Altitude:
B-17
B-24
B-29
They have ball turrets to protect from below attacks. They can fly at 18,000 ft. minimum.
All other bombers have no minimum altitude restriction, including Lancasters. They have no ball turrets and some have no tail guns.
CICs need the freedom to create tactical and strategic plans. Players need to feel they are not skeet for the opposing fighters dropping from the sky with several thousand feet of smash.
Our players in fighters are very skilled bomber killers. With one target and altitude restrictions, pickets can loiter until the scouts find the bombers and call it in.
Escorts only have little effect from perched enemy fighters. With B-17s, B-24s and B-29s, bring 'em on. I'm looking out for FSO players in the other bomber rides.
I will go down fighting no matter what because I love to blow things up. A few also enjoy that.
It would be nice for other FSO players to chime in on this besides the regulars here in the forum. I'm certain that the silent majority could help illuminate the issue. Guessing doesn't pin the tail. Maybe, I'm pinning somewhere on the hind end very close to the tail.
My two pennies.
Keep up the good work CMs and keep playing all. :salute
P.S. If I'm being difficult, then probably the meds are off balance ir too much midget porn. :devil
