My unique pet names would be for three different dog breeds. Each name would be perfect for a male or female dog.
Dog 1 - Miniature Pinscher
They require veterinary care and grooming, which can be costly. Name Money Drain
Dog 2 - Shepard Collie
They also require veterinary care and grooming, which can be more costly. Name Financial Ruin
Dog 3 - Siberian Husky
They also require veterinary care and grooming, which can be even more costly. Name Chapter 11
I love the Mini Pins attitude for being a guard dog until confronted plus how they run away and hide during thnder storms. The aspect of having Lassie at home. The coat on the Husky is the most beautiful with a wolf-like presence.
Those are the names for my dogs if I had them.

Our pitbull cost us $5,000 a rear knee for TPLO surgery after she blew them out in her younger years...
Then there are the hundreds she cost each of her 8 years of regular vet visits so far..probably in the 11 to 12k range at this point..
Pets like children require a financial and emotional commitment some don't/can't be bother with..
As Skyler can tell time for her meals and walks maybe we should have named her Rolex..

The last time we went camping, our two dog stayed at a resort. It was $800 for the week.
My lab and my wife's mix Dachshund/Bassett Hound, they are spoiled.
They will be there again for our long weekend trip to the lake.
Lab is Tucker

Had a friend who named his dog Cod Dammit.
He said he named him that because when he went hunting everyone else would be yelling at their dogs "get back here cod dammit"

I picked up a mixed pup (border collie/beagle et al) 10 years ago from the side of a gravel county road near an artesian well. Named her Artesia and simplified it to “Tess”. She recently transitioned from being an outside to an inside dog, still tries her best to blend in with the couch and not be noticed to be put out lol.
Recently adopted a 4yr corgi/shepard mix from a shelter. He was already aptly named “Fox”. Both are pretty fierce guard dogs and we have to put them up with newcomers around, but Fox is particularly protective of my 4yr old daughter and loves laying up with us on the couch or bed.
Got an orange cat about 2yrs old now (came up to me as a kitten at my office). Named him “Grumman”, can’t imagine what would have influenced that name…
First cat I have ever had. Keep him outside roaming free and enclose him into a hutch at bedtime. Was hoping he’d be a good mouser as we live in a rural area, but pretty sure he’d just make friends with him. He loves hanging out with us when we are outside and being petted - not aloof at all.

Wife found a kitten at a parking lot and brought him home. He eventually grew into a 15 pound cat and he was not fat at 15 pounds. We asked our 4 year old twins to name him. One said “Tiger” the other said “Popcorn”. There was no compromise. So Tigerpopcorn he became. He generally went by his street name of “Tiger-P” because he didn’t want his friends to know his last name was “popcorn “. He was a sensitive cat.

When my sister was about to be born in 1970, my parents asked 4 year old me what we should name her.
I said either "Underdog" or "Blue Ultraman". She would have been famous if my parents only listened.

A year ago or so we adopted a bob tail cat from the pound. I named him Djoser after the ancient early Egyptian Pharaoh who is credited with building
the first pyramid (granted it was a step pyramid). He is either full or part pixie bob and as the pound warned, he is extremely rambunctious. He actually
hides and ambushes me but as my wife and I always say, "gotta luv him!" :D
