I have had some luck opening the films from the windows "file explorer/manager" folder. Close the FV each time Im done with a film and open the next one in the file manager. So far it seems to not have the anomalies with the ground textures and such. <crosses fingers>

I’m just having Create Shot crashing for various reasons.
Then voice was triggering a crash when using it

I’ll get the bandaids back together, just annoying AF.
A shot that should take 10 min went into an hour before walking away.

I don’t have terrain issues.

Prolly/hopefully just a bad day.

Edit: < kicks rock.>

I find that everything works better using this method. The sweeping shot of the town getting bombed in my "Bombing 101 Part 2" video need a lot of adjustment to get the shot I wanted but it never crashed with all the adjustments. Just something you might want to try.

I think its the film itself. I’ll try another when I screw my head back on tomorrow
I get this naturally real good shot, little needed, crash crash crash. Ended up doing it manually.

Then tried again with Setup, bam.

Only shot I needed from that film.

I at least temporarily lost my mojo

Tried again. another film.

Setup Cam Shot is now crash infested garbage, everything is set right. in 2 hrs I got a 15 second shot.

But hey, here's my $15, useless.

I'm tired of tipping a bad do nothing waitress. We are rewarding doing nothing.

I've had the same issues, it doesn't always help, but sometimes exporting just the 2 mins you want to work with to a new film, then setting shots up can work better, sometimes

Yes I do this as well.

I’ll try it, maybe it will keep me from wanting to choke someone.

Didn’t have nearly these problems last time I used it. I’m not new with it.

Thanks for being more patient than me. Mine is running thin.

While working around the crashes on certain files, now screen capture is having problems with 4k. The FPS takes a dump with terrain shots. Moves very smooth on the monitor, but not in the video capture.

Tried other screen recording apps and codecs, no joy, in fact worse. So my setup is as goid as I can find.

May try to rig FV for direct to avi, probably no joy.

Video card is chewing the cpu, then screen capture is chewing the rest of cpu at the same time.

4k video may not happen on this gpu and cpu, even though the game does. May have to go back down to 2560x1440 just to take the load off.

I loath failure. So does my hair that now sits on the floor

If using a spinning hard drive, it won't keep up on 4k high detail scenes.
Also, if using GPU to encode, it has a separate encode processor that the game doesn't use.
Either resource can be monitored with the Task manager performance window.

Thanks Kermit, good to cya around.

I’m using SSD for this stuff. The screen capture is the weak link.
Anything away from ground detail is crazy smooth. Which will be great for this scenario.
But I’m working on a 2 min video thats almost all close to the ground.

I got rid of 50% studder by making the both AHFV window and Bandicam capture frame at 2560x1440 in size and lowered capture fps down from 120 to 60, even tho I’m at 4k res 120 clamped 120fps, I can get 300fps, thats just wasted frames.

I also toyed with high priority settings.

I’m going to try killing all bkg processes and see if it becomes acceptable.

Chances are this one will probably need to be done at 2560x1440 res.

The scenario has a good chance of being true 4k since 95% is far away from ground detail.

I have a setting that forces writing directly to drive (a tweak), I may try disable that and using memory first.

The fan on the gpu is just cranking, so I know its under pressure.

I get obsessed on a project, I get fixated on getting it right, and I lose hair doing that.

Never fails, a film with the best shots is always the crash problem child.

I think the guy upstairs is entertained by me losing my ever loving mind on a project.

I’m like “ I SHALL NOT be defeated”
The guy upstairs is like “hold my beer”

I cleared it up by running PC and game at 4k, but capture is 2560x1400 and saving as MP4 instead of AVI, which I loath. But it will handle full tilt ground graphics close up.

I still may squeeze 4k out if it. Still testing

Kewl, thanks

I'm just going to pick a frame, I.E. Frame 2, to make a video. It can be over-whelming to go through 4 frames and 50 hrs of films look for a better shot.

SO far, very few lag issues with buffs. BoB MotA B17s were all over the place with it. Lancs not so much.

I have 190s, 109s and 51s POV films. A buff film would be cool.

Couple more vids from the last frame, was a lot of fun! Think there's some cool shots in there, hope it helps.

Thanks Bolt. It was a lot of fun and action. Think I only got 16-18 kills.
Again, I’m having issues with buff drone warping. It screws up a lot of otherwise good scenes.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed.
