Title: Nose Art question

Well I've tried to get our squad's nose art correct now twice and am 0 fer 2. While I'm getting pretty good at the logo itself the simple thing of the transparency is making me put my marOOn hat on.
I've tried making a custom color of 176,176,176 and I put that all over the 64x64 square, then I build the logo on top of that.
Where am I shooting myself in the foot? Can you help? I don't want to keep using trial and error or the Nose Art Dept, will make one for me 'The Nose Art MarOOn'.

Make the custom background color 255 x3 (or whatever the color is with the sliders all the way right...Its a white color and it will give you a transparent background...)
