Going to McMinnville Oregon for the International Pinot Noir Festival Thursday thru Sunday.  Will drink a nice glass of wine in honor of all my friends and foes.

Make sure you stop by the Evergreen flight museum there in McMinville.  You can't miss it.. its the one with the Spruce Goose sitting there ;)

Are you visiting the area from someplace outside the NW?  If so...
You must IMMEDIATELY go to any McMenamins and have a nice sandwich and either a Ruby or Hammerhead.  I like all there beers, but those are my favorites.  The NW style beer is very hoppy, and looked down upon by some traditional guys, but I don't think there is anything nicer out there.  The highlight of my honeymoon, in Bend Or. (lousy place to honeymoon, very beautiful place in general though) was sitting in the Deschutes River Brewing Co. cafe having a fish and chips and enjoying a pint of Mirror Pond Pale Ale.
Ok Ok.  If it's wine you are after, Pinot is a specialty of the region.  I live in LA, and I know a lot of rich folk who travel there just to sample the local offerings of Pinot.  Have fun!  :)

Dang, Milo, if ya just go about 3 hours North to a REAL good state (no 60's hippies growing Mary Jane in their back yards) I'd hook up with ya, and give ya one of our rooms for a night or two...

Greese... Mirror Pond is the best beer on the planet... oh man... and it is 5 o'clock and I'm outta here... and no work tomorrow because I'm going to the brew fest... and I'm not driving home because we are staying at a hotel in Portland to be closer to the glorious BEEEEERRRR tomorrow (oh... and so we won't have to drive anywhere afterwards) I think I shall have to find a McMenamins right now... soak up some IPA and good food... isn't life grand?

Yep... couldn't afford a house in Portland... got a nice new 4 bedroom in St. Helens for the same price as a shack in Portland.   ;)

I came close to buying a house in St. Helens, when I worked at Boise Cascade, but elected to buy in Clatskanie, as it was closer to Longview where I was gonna do most my shopping  :D

St.Helens is growing fast as more people from Portland move to the burbs.

We might have to hook up sometime, drive to Portland and see AKDeja and SOB   :)

Any time milnko... would be interesting to learn some secrets from some other pilots... (like how to best avoid spilling beer, how to keep the wife from being jealous of Aces High... all that important stuff)  ;)
