Title: Monitors in Game
Post by: BBGunn on April 10, 2001, 03:17:00 PM
Is there a way to clue a monitor in that a person(s) is creating a problem in the game?  EG: The join addict.  Several times I have had people attempt to join me over and over again even though I decline. When in a dogfight the join window blocks your vision and messes things up but good.  My experience was that their attitude was anti-authoritarian so when you say "please don't join" they do it anyway.  I got one persons attention when he/she did not unjoin so I took off in a fighter and they could not join anyone else.  Then they showered me with "Oh please-please land so I can unjoin".

Well this is a new one...one usually asks permission before sending a request to join..you must have a big following   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) .... and no we have no monitors, use ALT-R, film it and send it in, thats what we do here in ACES HIGH...now go have fun.

if they keep trying to join you and you are in a fighter   just accept them.  then they are stuck not doing anything (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Same point with annoying chat buffer folks....the monitors might be in the midst of action themselve and it would be nice to have a key to alert them to the fact someone is being a moron and worthy of their attention.  We had a few on last night that were pretty annoying and while squelching shuts them up, it doesnt filter out all the people in the arena telling the moron what they think of them   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Just let them join, and then don't give them the chance to ever unjoin.

They will learn quickly to stop that crap.

This topic brings one idea (maybe old)
to my mind.

Lest assume your good friend HOTAS is broken and could not fly. she/he any way likes to at least see some action and chat g'old pals in MA.

Friend join up to your fighter and check your 6 all the time, monitoring radar and etc. Communication via RW.

I have not try that but it would be nice to have WO on board :-))

Cheating? Maybe. Gaming the game? Sure!

Xjazz, is SOOO clever he makes my brain hurt.....

I have had lot's of flights like that. Gunners usualy use it. May also be good during HS this weekend  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Join command is really good when training newbies too. When teaching them how to land you just let them jump in and bada bing they have a front seat of how it should be done  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
