Very moveing.
Peace.

yes... when the war ended it was found that there were indeed no nazi's in germany. At least, no one checked "nazi" in the "political affiliation" box.

Yah... and after the war, it turns out every frenchman was in the resistance.... astounding the Nazis ever managed to hold on to the place.

Poland 1939 - The Diary of Luftwaffe Atrocities. (http://www.elknet.pl/acestory/pol39/pol39.htm)

Please take this stuff to the O club. I t really has nothing to do with Aces high other than we try to match the machines of the era.
please before some fool adds 2 and 2 together and makes 5 .......

Atrocities during a war? Isn't this the whole point of wars?
Wars are asinine things, usually started by fools.
As Hazed said, other than the machines, AH and those who play it have nothing to do with that which was perpatrated by the actual combatants of WWII.

Dont kid yourself. If you want to match machines of the era, go play a peaceful flight sim like MS Flight Simulator.
Aces High, like most games and sports, is a simulation of WAR.
Admit it or not, you play this game because you enjoy the idea of pointing guns at someone, and shooting him down. You are not even satisfied with shooting at an AI opponent, you want to shoot somebody who is controlling the airplane at the other end. If I were wrong, you'd be playing an offline sim.
If you really despise the idea of warfare, then you wouldnt really like Aces High or any other combat simulator. War and violence is part of our nature, its coded into your DNA. So this kind of discussion should not bother you at all.

Now getting back to the discussion, I dont see why anyone would think that a bunch of guys who flew unarmed planes with a red cross (what better bullzeye?) painted on its wings is a dirty NAZI. Ive read accounts of incredible honor and kindness on both sides of the conflict. War aint black and white, you know. Its not The Goood guys vs. The Bad Guys. Cowboys vs. Indians. Some of the people fighting for Hitler were better men than many GI's, and vice versa. There was scum on both sides. There where heros on both sides also.

I noticed you posted no soviet atrocities in poland..........
or the any of the atrocities committed by poles on jews following the war.
You do know that after the mass escape of jews at Sobibor(sp) quite a number of the jews that maneged to escape and hide till the russians liberated poland were then in turn killed by poles.
Katyn Woods massacre and other visited on the poles by the russians prior to Russo-German conflict is the most glaring example of Soviet atrocities follow that up with enmass uprooting of ethnic germans who were forced out of the homes when the new Polish borders were established effectively shifting Poland to the west.
Couple that with 50 of Soviet dominance over the polish state.
Theres no doudt Nazis were evil but lets not forget that sometimes theres a fine line between the "good" and the "bad".
The einsatzgruppen and extermination camps in poland however are unique in their barbarity. But poland has suffered greatly under both Nazism and communism and in there suffering they even commited "atrocities" of their own.

Animal, I beg to differ. I do despise the idea of warfare (for many reasons) but still find myself enjoying competitive games such as combat flight sims or *gasp* Quakelikes. I do agree though that the weapon fetish and kind of affinity for violence are probably natural for males at least. I won't bother to resist the former but do my best to stay away from the latter.
I suggest you do too, rather than someday whack somebody and accuse your own DNA ;)
As for what comes to this topic, what is it doing on the general discussion board? Infinitely flammable, suitable for o'club discussion only, I'd say.

If you said that to my face whilst I have a sabre in my hand I suggest you say it from at least 6 feet away.
Sabre, enh?? Thats a heluva tool.. significantly heavier than those silly lil 'apeie' or whatever they called 'em. I suppose you'd like Animal served Sliced, not Poked. :D
Animal.. like he said.. stay six feet away. (and bring a pistol)
Hazed!!
Oh.. btw.. I issued a Pony/D vs A5 note to myelf... redeemable most anytime. I wanna learn how to fly that damn 190... Thanks!
