Title: M8 37mm ?

Has anyone managed a kill or an assist with its 37mm gun?

I hit a panzer 12 times with it and didn't even get an assist when another player killed it. Something seems to be wrong with it.

It kills LVTs, m3's and M16's with HE ammo

AP ? That thing bouncess off everything!

Yup, I've gotten lots of kills in the M8, mostly against PNZR's and Osties.
75% of the battle is getting the right set up BEFORE you engage.  I use AP rounds when I know I am going to be facing armored vehicles, HE rounds when I know there are thin skinned vehicles (M16, M3, PT boats, LVT's) in the area.
It takes you quite a few rounds to kill the tanks, but usually the first two rounds causes them to smoke, depending again on where you hit them.  I average 12 hits per kill on tanks, nearly the same on Osties.  Again, SETTING UP THE ENGAGEMENT is more important than anything else in this type fight.  Clue:  Hitting either a Tank or Osty in the front is wasting ammo.  Get behind them!

AH tank modeling is superior to WW2OL's.

The 37mm should easily penetrate the Ostwinds fairly thin turret armor from at least a decent range. Sorry I dont know too many specifics on the US 37mm but It and the 2lbr were pretty powerful little guns against light tanks. Osti turret is similarly armored.  AH armor model is wierd though, so its pointless to discuss anyway.
