It seems that the ignore list is working on this board, so I am going to issue a fair warning. You may not care much about me reading your posts but you must care somewhat - otherwise why would you be posting here at all.
I would never consider ignoring someone for the content of the messages hovever offencive to me personally but I will ignore people who screw up other people's threads. There are two types of "violations" of which the second one pisses me off more then the first even though the first is more common.
1. Blatantly hijacking someone's post. Some deviations are understandable but once the deviation starts taking more space then the original point, it becomes interference with our free speech on this board (as set by almighty HTC, not the US government).
Spamming someone's thread with unrelated stuff is almost as bad as deleting it. It interferes with our right to open a clearly marked thread and post/read in it.
2. Accusing someone of "Trolling...".
What "nice troll ..............." translates to me is:
"Guys, this is not a real post, do not read/reply to it".
If you care about any points made in the post and want to argue them - great! That is why the post is made.
If you post offencive and spamming "nice troll ..............." messages that make the poster waste valuable screen space on stating that his thread is not a troll, etc. - that interferes with out reading the thread same as hijacking.
The common point is that anyone can argue any point but no one should interfere with me reading the thread I chose to read.
Of course if some guy I respect who posts great insightfull topics I enjoy will violate those rules, I will have hard time ignoring him/her - but somehow the people who's opinion I care to read on this board never engage in the second offence and rarely in the first one.
Now, guys - if you want to see a clean enjoyable board (speaking of structure and usability, not the content) - I need a show of hands here.
No names for now please - just show that you are serious. I certainly am.

Errr.... the Raiders havent lost to those cream puffs in a LONG time. Heck...in 76 they beat them to go trounch the Vikings in the Superbowl ;)

Ahh, you are correct...I was thinking of the trudging that Buffalo gave em back a few years ago :D

Of course. And with the working ignore feature nobody has to be inconvenienced by that.
I am just advising people who matter to me that instead of bothering to argue that they are not trolling every time you happen to jerk off in their thread, they can just do "ignore wotan" and be done about it.

one time my cat got his claw stuck on his scratching post... he freaked out and i had to take him to the vet cause he pulled his claw out too far and it wouldnt retract

david gilmore is a rusty hack who learned to play guitar from sid barret. plus roger waters could kick his wannabe pink floydin' bellybutton any day of the week. roger waters IS pink floyd, david gilmore is clinging to his glory. so there.
oh yeah i dont know what this ignore thing is about but i dont think i care :)

LOL Rip...aye, I cried almost at that one :( . I heard Howie Long had to be restrained from throwing Jay Shroader off the plane. My only question is WTF was Art Shell doing keeping his bellybutton in the game. It was a SAD day. Also I rem that the Raiders had one of the best defenses in the game but that Buffalo Offense was new at the time and ate them for dinner. Of course The 6 or so turn overs didnt help ethier.

I do not particularly want to ignore anyone. The whole point of my post was a suggestion to clean up a board a bit more because I am actually interested in everybody's opinion.

Well, I only did it once. It would be unreasonable on my part to complain every time but I had to do it one time - just so that I know I did all I could.

If you are talking about this thread, I did not make any references to you personally here and I was general. In that particular "Kicking..." tread the original poster only wasted little space denying that it was not a troll and he should not have had to do even that. Some other cases are more irritating.
If you referring to my suggestion that you edit out your remark, it just reflected an inconcistency - first you say the thread is a troll, then you are actively participating in the discussion - while still insisting it is not a discussion.
If you are insulted by my calling you ignorant, here is the total content of the posts based on which I made my remark:

Accusing someone of lying without any justification is concidered uncivil by many people.
You did not disagree with what he posted, you flat out stated that he posted not what he thought - without bothering to substantiate.
Maybe you oughta edit your own post people may think you anal.
I may well be by your standards when it comes to lying and accusations to that effect.
I spent enough time around people valuing their reputation and honor seriously enough to be ready to resolve any slur with violence.

I can't stand seeing the "new" pink floyd singing wish you were here. That as well as most of their songs need Roger's voice. And that punk bellybutton pretty boy bass player they got sux too. Trust me I know I'm a bass player :) Roger's rif's were way better than this tard's. VH1-2 played all floyd all of last weekend :) Saw some cool old stuff with Sid. Then they had the legends thing on VH1 sunday night, very good stuff...

OK, some friends and I were sitting in the living room tripping away on some fine window pane (this is 20+ yrs ago) listening to "Shine on You Crazy Diamond".
We had this metalic desk toy thing that was a clown standing on 1 foot with these big balls hanging down on each side for balance. . ..so we spun it.
It spun and spun as the song played in the background and we discussed the "Wizard of Oz" phenomenon.....and as the song slowed in the background so did the clown....slower song...slower clown....slower song....slower clown.......song stopped...CLOWN FREAKIN STOPPED!
We stared at the clown...then at each other ..then at the clown again. There was no mistake...................Pin k Floyd had control of our world! We paid homage by leaving the house........completely freaked out.

We once hear the toaster "echo" bounce off 5 walls. Everybody's head moved to follow the sound at the same time :eek: Then we laughed for about 2 hours around our "campfire" in the middle of the living room. This was to Hendrix though (first album)

A while ago, me and my friends were rolling (E) and playing some Mp3s on a laptop and downloading some other stuff. We played CCR and some other cool stuff. We were talking, and just basically keeping ourselves entertained by getting cool drug songs off of napster when someone turned on the TV by sitting on the remote. At the time, the room was pitch black except for the laptop. The TV comes on, we all look over and at the exact same time our eyes twitch rapidly and for a good minute or so. The TV screen, snowy because no reception, begins to dance across the room in front of us while the box itself has NO picture in it and is sitting there as a blank TV. We all go "wtf?" at the same time.... wierd man, wierd!

We can talk about here about whatever we want. If other poeples posts are bothering you.. thats your problem. You are just too full of yourself. But hey thats nothing new. So save us of your "intelligent" posts. When we're ready to hear a fart, we'll let u know.

Yeah...that one killed me too. But remember, that was the game after Bo Jackson blew out his hip against Cinci. Shroader was a one-diminsional QB. He could through a great deep pass and that was it. The Raiders offense was built on Bo up the middle till the safties came up then throw to a young Tim Brown and James Loften (old, but still fast) over the top. Without Jackson, and in brutal weather, the Raiders were toast.
And stayed that way for too long. But now they'd better perform and win before they get too old. This is a built-for-now team.

i lost my "live at pompeii" video which was sweet. i probably loaned it to someone knowin me. but thanks to the good ol internet i downloaded some of it.
as for the ignore thing, i ignore people in the ma but i like even reading bad ideas on the bbs. i like to see a well stated case even if i dont agree - there are a few now and then.
