Evidently somebody in the powers that be got pissed off enough to yank the damn thing.  I thought they were great and not really much more than a method to put numbers to the dweebery in some threads.  Actually, they're pretty damn dangerous as you don't have to remember what people said just the numbers.  Who knows somebody might find out what the majority actually want

I agree, there are way to many polls.  Irrelevant polls pushes the more interesting and relevant threads off the first page.

Maybe there should be a separate bulletin board category for polls, so those who like them can post all they want, rather than completely eliminating an otherwise useful feature.

Under most conditions I would ignore a retort but I can't this time.  Polls weren't out long enough to get a fair run.  Naturally a new toy gets play so why not leave it alone for a couple of weeks till the novelty wears off and then kill it after maybe a warning.

Would you propose to close down our electoral process since we usually only get a vocal minority of people going to the polls?  Polls provided a way for people to measure with actual numbers an opinion.  Maybe they should have their own separate forum but not completely done away with.

Just my opinion, but from what I have seen HTC listens to good suggetstions, even if it was posted once.  They don't seem to be swayed by strong arm tactics of Polls, both on-line and in the message boards.  But I could be wrong, they may be able to come up with good ideas without our help :)

If there were polls, it would be nice if they were all in one "Poll" topic.  It would make polls easier to be avoided if someone didn't care to read them.

Why do you think I would propose this?  This is a game, play it, have fun.  Do your voting on election day where it matters.

The vocal minority comment was right on track.

I have no idea of the realy percentage but I doube very seriously if the people on the board represent enough of a cross section of players to be in any way accurate.

And this is exactly the point my friend.  Here was a way that you would know the exact percentage and instead we opt to continue in the blind.  Now anyone can say they are in the majority or the minority as it suits them at the time.  One nice thing about the polling system was that you could vote without having to say anything which is basically the thing that many of us don't like; somebody else's expressed opinion.
