Title: AFC/NFC Championship games
Post by: Ripsnort on January 21, 2002, 08:27:24 AM
Ripsnorts picks:

Ripsnort review is....

AFC:
Steelers dominate New England right out of the gate, would be a more interesting game if the Raiders had advanced...
Steelers 35  N.E. 10

NFC:
Philly comes out with trick plays, gets 7 on the board first, then Rams hammar down with one of the biggest offensive lines in the game, with Faulk getting 150 all-purpose yards.
Rams 42 Philly 17

My picks last week were:
NE over Raiders (won)
Chicago over Philly (Lost)
Rams over GB (won)
Steelers over Ravens (won)

Edit: So far I am 12-1 on my superbowl picks in the last 13 years...I learned never to bet money on the Superbowl and you win, and...never bet on Buffalo (my one loss)

I will be routing on Philly and New England, I always route for the underdog!

Thesaurus has nothing showing that root is to cheer on a team, however, the term "Route" (Depending on where you live, its pronounced either "root" or "Rout") means to "go down the same direction, path", therefore :Route: is correct. :)

Been a Rams fan since Roman Gabriel, Jack Snow and Deacon Jones. But the heartbreaking MOFO's wait until they freakin leave town to win one...............aaaaaaaaaaa gggggghhhhhhhh.

They gonna win again too.......bastards!

Rip, look up Root in Webster's Dictionary  (http://www.webster.com).  The 4th root is an intransitive verb.

1 : to noisily applaud or encourage a contestant or team : CHEER
2 : to wish the success of or lend support to someone or something
- root·er noun

:p

uhmm, go Steelers.  (my stepbro likes 'em, I couldn't care less who wins since it doesn't involve any team I like or any team I hate)

You did Bro, you did.  Luckily I don't have a pre-1991 Eastern block ego and can admit when I'm wrong :)

LOL!  Rip, I almost needed a Heimlich while reading that.  Food, BBS's, and Ripsnorts don't mix very well!

I like the Redskins' chances. I think they'll take it all.
