Some aircraft actually do. WW2 planes did not. I brought this up on these BB's before.
The explanation I got from HiTech was along the lines of they feel the stall alarm is the best way to give a pilot stall feedback, as no system on a computer is going to be 100% realistic.
I would prefer if AH used a slight visual cue, like the shaking when your guns fire, but either way it's not going to be perfect. HTC didn't do it this way because it would interfere with people's weapon accuracy when riding the edge (although with the new gunsights this might not be an issue anymore).

Not entirely correct. While not an audible alarm Corsairs, for one, had a stall warning light on the dash. I don't think they were the only ones.

They did in the 40's, or current COrsairs have been retro-fitted with them?
I know that a lot of modern warbirds have been fitted with modern instruments, but I didn't think any planes built in the '40s had such features. If some WW2 planes actually DID have warning lights when built, that might be a useful tool to add to AH.

Corsairs had them from the beginning. I looked it up as I was curious after reading this topic :) And it looks to be the only US fighter that did. P-38, 39, 40, 47 and 51's did not. And noehter did the F4F or F6F .
"The stalling characteristics (of the F4U) were very poor, with little warning other than that afforded by the stall warning light on the instrument panel which was operated by the breakdown of airflow over the centre section."

Along with the stall horn sounding, my ppffb stick starts shaking. Not bad HTC!:D

I like the horn, it allows you to keep a strong eye on what you are doing. Like looking out the side of your cockpit. Or behind. Or above...
I used the ffback, but interefered with flight too much.
Don't lose the horn. b'sides, it's only there when you are using it!

Snefens used to have a website up with the stall wing buffeting sound from EAW, lost the url unfortunately after a reinstall, but its far better and more realistic to listen to that than a buzzer :)
If you have access to it just save it as stall.wav in your sounds folder.

Right click on the link and "select save as", copy it into your Aces High sounds folder and give it a go.
Would probably be wise if theres an original of that name in the sounds folder, to copy that 1st in case you just cant live without that damn buzzer.

Now that the crosshair is out at infinity, there's no reason we shouldn't have cockpit shake when a stall is immenent.
Since the crosshair doesn't shake, it won't screw up aim, and I'd like it if there was a warning that was a bit more progressive (i.e. an indicator that told the pilot he was nearing a stall or right on the edge by its intensity)
