(ok, I'm dumb, I can't find the Yes! Post a Poll! checkbox)
1. you check the numbers and you go for the underdogs if the difference is too big
2. you go for the country where the plane(s) you want to fly is (are)
3. it depends...
I just would like to know what the majority is doing, without emitting any judgement. After all, there are pros and cons in both cases:
1. If a side is permanently gangbanged, people will log off and action will die...
2.Lots of WWII fights weren't fair, so why shouldn't CT reflect this?
CM's opinion about this topic is very much welcome!

My squad allways flies Allied.
Grayarea
56 RAF.
-
I always fly allied first hand, but if the numbers would be like 20 allied on and only 10 axis then i would switch to axis in an hart beat...
-
I always check the numbers, and go to the short side.
I fly 'em all.
-
I usually fly LW, but if the numbers are lopsided against the allies (like they were last night) I will switch sides.

I amost always go to the short side.

I choose 1. If numbers are close (not more than 1.5 vs 1 ratios) I'l choose 2.
Of course then I ask where the combat is and where my support could be needed. If no answer I'll tend to go to the other side.

I usually fly LW because I like the challenge and they are usually outnumbered. But if the numbers were out of whack AND the allies were being pushed back too far territory wise I would switch. But I have yet to see that in there...so I fly LW! Have a nice day!

I check the numbers first thing, then look at the map and decide what I want to do.
I switch sides multiple times while I am in just to try and keep the sides even if I can. Makes me no difference what I fly or which side, I just do what I can to try and make it work for everyone.

I fly Allied unless the numbers are off, then I fly LW. Other exception, sometimes, I will switch to LW to fly with a squaddie. :)
-
My Squad always fly Axis, which never seems to have more than 1.25:1 ratio when I fly.

In this map I'm Allied, the last map we flew Axis. I dont really change around that much. I fly the G10 alot in the MA so when I come to the CT I want to do something different, so right now I like flying for the Russians. Besides I use the speed of the G10 as a crutch and flying the Yak is a little more challenging for me. I come in and look at the map and see where all the activity is, usually can tell by looking at the dar bars in each sector. If I dont see any activity I might ask if any body needs anything or else I'll grab an IL-2 and go attack a field, that sure gets me a response.

only axis only g2 could careless about numbers or strat considerations...............

I get a beer :D

I usually greet the side I'm logged into. I usually fly Axis, since its usually a safe bet the Axis will be outnumbered.
Now that I've joined a squad, when I fly squad night's I'll be going whereever the squad leader assigns us.
BTW, this is the downside of getting squad participation in the CT. It'll definitely improve the numbers, but it may lead to wide swings in the Axis:Allied ratio as squads login for their squad nights.
I think there are far more Allied-based squads, so it has the danger of becoming frequently lopsided in favor of the Allies. I hope squad leaders will see this and act to minimize side imbalance.

It all depends on the map/planeset, and what kind of mood I am in. For the last two sets maps, I flew mostly Luftwaffe, since I slightly prefer the Germans over the Russians. I got a hankering to fly Russian planes towards the end though, so I switched for a few days and flew Russian. With the current map, I will almost certainly fly Allied only, since I dont like the Japanese planes very much. On the Russia vs. Germany maps I would occasionally choose the outnumbered team if the numbers were really out of whack when I logged in, but I never switch once logged in. With this pacific map, I really cannot see myself flying for the Japanese side at all, no matter how outnumbered they get.

I ask where the fight is, find very little, log off and play dod. :(
-
I usualy fly where the Aircraft I like are, but if numbers are too off & I'm not doing something purposefull (bombing raid with squaddies, or right in the middle of a capture). I'll tend to stay on the side where my squaddies are, but also enjoy shooting them from time to time... just depends of the mood I woke up, realy :)
Oh, and what Pepe does too :D

First thing logging in, I check numbers and situation. Then I say hello to the folks on both sides (open channel). I figure the first few people who respond probably aren't in any serious action, so based on that, I look at situation again. Then I usually give up and just take the side that has the bird I wanna fly at that exact moment. Unless there is a serious underdog, then I'll fly with them, get waxed 3 or 4 times, get depressed and log out, lol.
-
Look at the map then the roster then log off .
-
Check the numbers per side and go help the short sided bunch, unless it's a PTO scenario, then I just grab a F6F or F4U and GO!:D
-
I log in, find the arena is porked, go squeak on the BBS, then wander off to dweebland in the MA. *sigh*
-
I go to the side with the least number of pilots. If relativley even, the side with the least numer of Alabama fans.

Jumped in to the CT for some HA fun. That was the area I would always fly in the other sim.
Well, I always carefully guard my PerkPoints and always fly for the under dog. Wow, NO POINTS AGAIN!! WOW!! what fun!! Tony's and Zeke's Vs Thunderbolts and Hogs.
