Title: Submarines???
Post by: muckmaw on January 24, 2002, 02:10:37 PM
I recall reading somewhere that HTC was planning on implementing subs into the game sometime over the next year.

If my information is inaccurate, please correct me.

Meanwhile, what purpose would a sub serve besides Anti-Carrier work? Also, who would have the patience to pilot a sub for hours to get to the last known location of a fleet, only to find it gone?

I just don't get it. With so many other great things to put into an already awesome game, why subs?

Subs are perfect for those times when you're too drunk to fly.

There was an interview on one of the OL mags where HT said trhat subs will eventualy be included. You won't have to pilot one for hours though, from what I understand there will be subs or groups of subs that will be waypoint controled up to a certan point but will need to be hands on for attack. I think it was SimHQ that had the interview and it was a very informing one at that.

I'm never too drunk to fly... just too drunk to fly well.

I thought they meant submarine sandwiches! You mean we won't be getting free food with a new release?? This game sucks and everyone cheats!

The article was in "The Wargamer" and can be accessed via the link below.  It was a very informative article, as HiTech had drunk about four scotches not to long before the interview began:).  Oh, the author/interviewer is a close personal friend of mine, by the way ;).
