AMD world (who did a nice test originally to point out the memory problem, http://www.amdworld.co.uk/nfmemory.htm ) has reported that MSI released v2.2 for their NForce 420D board that fixes the memory performance issues.
In the earlier bios, their mobo performed best with mem banks 1 and 3 filled, even over banks 1,2,3 filled (512mb vs 768mb).
I know someone mentioned they have a KN420 board, and Bloom's worked on them before, so hope this helps you guys. :)
(I'm waiting for the 415 board, as I don't want the integrated video.) There's a picture of it at http://forum.ocworkbench.com/ocwbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=21&t=000145 (http://forum.ocworkbench.com/ocwbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=21&t=000145)
