Title: New Vid Card
Post by: AWRass on January 25, 2002, 01:12:19 PM
I just wanted to make sure to get this right the first time if possible. I am getting a new vid card Monday GE 2 Ti and wanted to know the best way to go about installing it. I guess what I really need to know is how to  go about removing the software settings that exsist with my old ATi card. Secondly I have heard some talk on these boards about a I think a Detonator driver, is that the one I should use and if so what version?

The card should come with instructions on how to install, usually you do not have to remove anything before you install a new card.. As far as which drivers to use, I would try the drivers that come with the card. If you experience lockups or if you think you should be getting a better FR with your hardware then look to some of the older drivers. Also a good thing to do is backup any critical data before making any hardware changes to a computer. While drive crash's seldom happen, having your data backed up makes recovery alot easier. If anyone is interested I can post a quick tut on how to back up things like your bookmarks, e-mails, contact lists etc. Hope this helps,
