I have a GF2MX Vid card and (dumb) dowloaded the new detonator drivers and now AH plays choppy as hell, is there a better (older) version of the drivers out there i can download ?
Wierd thing is, my frame rate (under cloud cover) is 30 avg, but the display is choppy as i fly, It didn't do this until i installed the new drivers. with the default ones (i don't know what they were when i bought the machine) there was some screen flicker, but it was at least playable :(
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: forgot to mention :
Win ME P4 1.4Mhz
GF2 MX (64MB)
Need any other info?

I think the newest drivers (23.11?) work best with DX8.1.
I think the 12.90 driver is the best of the batch. It usually benchmarks the highest of the older ones.

I had that exact experience (good fr, but choppy action) when I installed the 23.11 drivers for my GEForce 2 card.
I re-installed the 21.83 drivers and that cured the problem. I had the drivers on cdrom but I think they are also available at the nvidia website.

thanks guys, will try them out and report back :)

Sorry.. been busy in the Help and Training forums. :)

I get 'em here. I always recommend the WHQL certified versions where possible, but if you get a set that works good for you, DON"T SCREW WITH IT! :)
Never put on the "latest" Detonators unless you have to, and even then try to stick with WHQL certified versions.

Hey Leph, thanks, but when i tried to go to that sight, none of the links on the download page worked, I was going to try out some of those other sets, because i found out my wife's "Everquest" game is FUBAR in only 640x480 resolution with this set of drivers. (it looks all offcenter and over-sized for the screen but looks just fine in 800x600 and 1024x768)
