Title: Ultra ATA 133 cable
Post by: Kratzer on January 29, 2002, 12:16:04 PM
Is there really such a thing?  I heard that I needed a different IDE cable to go with an ATA 133 drive - is that true?

What's the difference?

And more importantly, how do I know if the cable I have is UATA 133?  I've got one with a blue connector, is that how they specify the difference?

ATA 100/133 cables are the same. The blues means the one you have is ATA 100. They're easy to distinguish from ATA 66 cables because of the blue end and the additional wires in the ribbon.
