OK, I bought the new Athlon XP 1400, new ASUS MB, etc.
I run the 3DMark2000 and my CPU score is in the mid 300's while everyone else with this CPU is knocking down mid 500's.
Would appreicate any help in figuring this out. Just tell me what info you need and/or what I should try.
CPU was new in box, shrinkwrap intact and has all the proper markings.
I'm stumped.

Toad I did the same thing about a month ago. Bloom, in another topic somewhere stated that when you swaped MB and CPU that windows had to be re installed so that it could take advantage of the special instructions that the new cpu gives you.
I did as bloom said and my FR increased an avg. of 7. I hope Bloom sees this so he can inform you about the possiblilty of having to reinstall windows after swaping MBs and CPUs'

check from bios if your memory is running 100mhz (should be 133mhz =266)

Hajo, I built this with a new IBM Hard Drive so I did a clean install of Windows for that.
Staga, I checked the bios and the speed was defaulted to "auto" so I reset it to 133:133 (the other choice was 100:133).
I ran the 3DMark2000 now and there might be a minor improvement but it's still not up in the 500 range that other folks are getting.
