Bit OT, but... did you know that a limited 262 run is being made here in the soggy state of Washington?
In particular, I like the engine shells.

They're beautiful, now that I have a digi-cam, I'll have to run back up there.
-
will these fly? or are they for museum display?
-
They fly:

They will begin fligh testing within 3 months.....
-
Yeah, they fly.
An interesting bit is the false engine casings... An equivalent thrust modern engine is far lighter and smaller than the old Jumo engines. To maintain fidelity to the prototype and to keep the weight and balance the same, they have made clamshells that fit around the new engines that look like a Jumo and have the same weight distribution.

Great site, I visit it weekly.
Then I go buy a lottery ticket and hope

Did they hide a price in that website?
-
I think I saw a quote of like $900,000 one time.

Hot damn, Paine field is only a couple miles from my house... I'm gonna have to make a run over there. :)

They took the two seater on display at Willow Grove NAS for plans and they still haven't brought it back
Tap, tap, tap......

No engine(s) or avionics

I was at their facility when they were still in Texas. Had a couple tours running through the place in conjunction with the WB convention. Got to climb all over one & such. I've got a buncha pictures here somewhere.
