i am having trouble connecting to ah with adsl and have done a ping plotter on alt.hitechcreations.com and beta.hitechcreations.com and the beta is decidedly better.I want to connect using the beta path but i cant even log into the server list to choose the alternate route.is there a way i can log on manually? all i get is host timed out when i try to enter password to join. Its driving me crazy!

I would like to know this as well. In the last two weeks I have had quite a lot troubles with sprintlink and the alt-route (sometimes) bypasses this. Using pingplotter I can see that I am having fine connection to the alt-route but I can't get to the screen where I can choose it since I can't connect to the normal adress.
PS: This is what I have been seing alot of times lately. grr:

Sprint is a lousy backbone provider, but here of late (the last 2 weeks) they have proven they can get worse.
I have seen an untold number of problems with thier network the last 2 weeks. They used to be consistently bad...You could alsmost put a clock to themand predict thier outages, but now they have dropped the consistency and have gone fully random on thier outages.
I have spent many hours on the phone with them trying to get answers, but the people there are getting more and more clueless. I have called them and asked when a router would be back up and they didn't even know it was down.
I really do not know what is going at Sprint these days, but it isn't good.
Oh, and out of ,....what i can only call sheer desparation, Savvis has a direct connect to Sprint now. It did eliminate about 5 hops from the sprint network, but the rest of the network is still a very big problem.

"the people there are getting more and more clueless."
IMO, this is a widespread trend in the telecom industry today. It's not only happenign at Sprint but also with the other two big, big, REALLY big US telecom corprations that help make the "Top Three" here. I know, as I work for one of them and I've seen my companies experience and experise walk out the door and head for better conditions, benefits and pay at the small start up companies these last two years. I keep tapping the pencil on the desk and wondering what the hell I'm still doing there.
Perhaps if Deutche Telecom buys Sprint the service will improve.
Something has to happen (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

er...is latency the cause? this doesnt seem right to me.Im able to connect fine with a 56k modem but ADSL times out before i even get to the choice of arenas.
when i log onto H2H i get the UDP switch to TCP/IP message and it doesnt go any further.
has HTC changed something for the new tour?
this has only happened in last couple of days.
would reinstalling AH solve this? (I have installed a fresh copy (latest full DL)in a different address and run that but the result was the same).
