WOW, as I read this its 12 minutes till 9est. Guess I'll be flipping the station now. Much thanks for the heads up.
By the way, if your interested in a real good read pick up a copy of Thunderbolt: The P-47. Written by Robert S. Johnson and Martin Caidin. Robert Johnson scored 28 kills in Europe and lived to tell the amazing story. As I said a real good read.

"In the last months of WWII, General Hap Arnold, head of the U.S. Army Air Force, ordered the making of a color film on his forward strike crews, particularly the P-47 Thunderbolts fighter groups flying close air support to the army's infantry and armor units. From March 1 to May 8, 1945, 16 camera crews shot 86 hours of film. But after the war, General Arnold decided not to release the footage. We tracked down four original pilots from the 362nd Fighter Group who narrate the story we see on the screen. "
Damn, damn damn. I'm at work and no way to get the VCR going.
Thanks for the heads-up though I'll check the early AM listings to see if it's rerun!

I caught the Thunderbolts show, it was awesome!
The COLOR gun camera footage was incredible, much of which I had not seen before.
I felt bad for those horse drawn carts that were driven by woman. You could actualy see the .50 cals ripping through the horses on some of those attacks.

One of the best books I've ever read was titled "Spitfires, JUGS, and Warm Beer" by a guy named Glover.
All about an American who joins CAF, ships to England, flies Spits for RAF, transfers to Eagle Squadron, transitions to P-47s and returns home alive after racking up a number of kills.
