Do we really need more buffs , people whine in here every day about how uber buffs are. Now they will have to try and kill a 4 buff formation ??
Next we will see a 4 fighter formation, won't that be special.

Personally, as a dedicated bomber pilot, I think the 4 Bomber Formation may negate the pilots abilites.

Of course, this is subject to how HT implements this possible change. Quite frankly, I'm happy with the bomber system as is.

If HTC is going to eliminate my super accuracy bomb site, then I'd like to see proximity damage being modeled. (i.e. a 1000 pound bomb will disable a Panzer, even if there is not direct hit)

Also, I would like to see craters having an impact on movement of GV's and Other vehicles maneuvering on the ground.

This would be more than enough for me.

Otherwise, leave the buffs alone, and maybe add a few perk bombers and I'll be perfectly content.

I'm interested to see how it turns out.  It could be really cool or it could really suck...from their track record, I'm guessing it'll be really cool.

Listen, I'm on a roll. THis is the first tour that I've not been shot down in my ride of choice (The B-26)

Not that I've flown 2,000 hours, but for my tracj record, this is quite an accomplishment. So I prefer not to F*** with a system that's working for me.

I know this is unrealistic, but a guy can ask, can't he.

i can't wait to go diving into a buff formation. remains to be seen what effect the changes will have on strat though.

Hmm but we already have Proxy damage modeled?! Just try droping a 4k Lanc Bonus egg between 2 close FHs and they both go. Droping bomb near the GV works also (if the bomb is big enough then no direct hit is needed anyway)...


But in general we should wait and then judge...

I'm with you on this one, Muck....I like the buffs as they are, one pilot, one airplane.  I do not completely understand the system that HiTech was proposing.

I completely agree with the crater damage.  I'll spare you all my rant  ;)

However, it would be cool if many gunners could join a buff.  When they join, much like the ships, chose a position.

Also, I do not not understand how this happens so much...I seem to get pilot wounded at the same instance the tail gun is disabled.  How's hitting the tail of the airplane wound the driver?  Seems to happen a lot in the B17 and Lancaster.  

The Ju88, well, you run out of airplane in the Ju88  ;)

Good ideas.  I'm pretty interested in what evolves.  I'd also like to see buffs get a few more perkies for landing their birds.  I've seen some really skillful landings with guys missing engines, gear, ailerons, etc etc.

yeh, im really looking foward to having each and every buff gun shooting through fuselage with pumped up range and kinetic punch spray in my direction.

Is it possible that the proposed changes to the buff are just one more evolutionary step in the progress of AH?

Could it be that buffs will change... which will cause other changes to perhaps strat.. which will cause other changes.. and evolution of the game will continue as more and more new versions are released?

Nah, couldn't be.

Hmm..

 approach from high 6...

 4 buffs x  2 top turret guns shooting at current accuracy...
 Wow.. equal to HOing a P-47..

 (shudders)

 rear 6 quarter angle.. hmm.. 4 tail guns(8. 50s) + 4 waist guns
 shooting through fuselage(4 .50s)... maybe if the angle is right,
 4 top turret guns laser guided as well(8 .50s)..

 HOing a plane with 16 x .50... woo hoo

My propose:

Pilot takes his plane plus three other buffs up to the sky.  Alone this pilot can fly formation inside certain envelope (no more aerobatic moves), take care of bombing of all four simultaneously and gunning ONLY his own plane.

If needed, gunnerys could join up to each plane and protect the formation.

how bout the pilot switching from plane to plane (1 - 4) and only being able to control the guns of the plane that the pilot is in??

downside is that it would suck when being attacked with more than one airplane, as each fighter could pick a bomber.

it would be like vegas, you gamble on which bomber the pilot is going to be in. and hope he can't shoot.
