I'm not sure if this has been posted or not before, but here goes.
If you use the old analog CH Pro Throttle like I do,do NOT upgrade to Windows XP if you want to continue using Speedkeys.
Speedkeys won't work at all,and Ch tech support verified it for me.
The only workarounds I can think of are to make a second bootable partition with an older version of Windows,or to add a second bootable HD as a slavedrive with an older version, which is what I spent last night doing. And that may not work with an older motherboard...I can't say for sure.
Just a heads up for everyone.

Sox62,
Apparently the same can be said of Windows 2000, as Ammo so recently made me aware.
Cheers

It also applies to the USB version - it will be recognized and work but no programmability other then DX buttons within AH.

I just new that little voice in my head saying "Don't do it..DO NOT BUY THAT XP BOX" was right. But what do I do?I ignore it and install it in my system.
Fortunately,I had an old 13.6 Gig Bootable HD with 98SE already installed...it's now the slave drive on the second IDE channel.
The trouble I go to just to play this game...lol. ;)

heh not only XP !!1 even with latest MB like MSI KT266pro2 even in dos mode no way :-))
-
It's the OS,not the motherboard,lol.
I have one of the newest, the Soyo Dragon Plus...fortunately it has a bootmenu option,so I can pick the Harddrive that has the OS that I need to play certain games,or to program Speedkeys.

Does it work for the analog CH gear?If so,it will solve my problem.

Moto you little beauty you :D:D:D:D
Earlier CH announced that there was no way they could get around XP issues with programmability and now it looks like I can reclaim space occupied by Win98 on my HD:D
Thanks again - I guess it pays to check for updates now and then :D:D:D

Just checked Ch's website...it only works for USB controllers...arrrrrgh

minus :
Throtttle doesn't work on my MB either Gigabyte GA-7DXR , when you boot the pc , it squeals . As you wrote it's the passthrough for the keyboard .

The Pro Throttle also has problems working with a PS/2-AT adapter or a programmable keyboard. Use a standard, good quality keyboard. That should fix about 50% of all cases.
If problems persist, you may have some other types of keyboard communication problems. First of all, make sure your BIOS is the most recent version (Contact your motherboard manufacturer for more information). Then, find the setting for your keyboard hertz rate (sometimes it may be called keyboard clock rate) and set it for 6hz. Some motherboards or BIOS do not have this option. If your particular system does not have this option, then you may not be able to get the pro throttle to function properly.
Speaking of BIOS, there is one more setting you will need to adjust. If your BIOS is set to power on the computer with a keystroke (ie F12), you must turn that off. Having your computer powered down will cause a power interruption in the pro throttle that can only be restored by shutting the computer off and turning it on again.
