Title: Yak-9U Data Posted
Post by: xHaMmeRx on February 17, 2002, 11:18:46 PM
Greetings all,

Finally found some time to collect data on a new plane.  Data on the Yak-9U is now posted under the Aircraft Performance Comparison Pages (http://www.netaces.org/ahplanes/comparisons/comparisons.html#title) at www.netAces.org (http://www.netaces.org)

More to come.

Very good pages HaMmer...........

Its interesting to note that for some reason many of AH aircraft exhibit a strange drag coefficient in comparison to each other.......

eg you will note how most of the radial engined AC (La7, F4U ) hold speed longer under zero throttle than many with inline engines (SpitIX Bf109G)....... not something I would expect in RL.

Was equally surprised to see the La 7 out dive the Bf109 and in particular the P51...... I presume that in the trial the La7 continued down out of control into the ground?

and the Spit IX hold the title of "low level super zoomer" at 231ft/sec (average) where as every thing else struggles just under 200ft/sec (average) although some aquired more height in their zoom.

I always thought the Spit would hold the looping title with stuff like the F4u and P47 winning the zoomer stakes

But it all gives a good insight into the comparative capabilities of AH AC

nice stuff
