Any of you hard-core techies have any idea what the heck this thing does. Asus has it on a number of mobo's but I can't really find any decent information on it.
Any practical uses for a home computer?

The CNR slot are dedicaced expension slot in wich you can put special modem/audio card.
Other hardware vendor call that : AMR (Audio Modem Riser)
Practicaly except if you got one the day you buy your mobo there's almost no way to get any riser card :D
Just leave-it free ... has it as no use ...

Think of a CNR slot as a little sign that says "don't buy this mainboard". :) If you already have one... just ignore it. Anything you can plug into that slot you probably won't find acceptable for gaming use.

whew...tough Leph. Having been through about 8 of my own motherboards over the years, and having built many system's for other folks, thats a REAL tough statement lol. The Asus P4T-E I have is by far the most stable board I've ever had. (biggest peice of crap I ever had was a Soyo with a via chipset)
