That variant is a Mk I, possibly from the N0.217 Squadron.

 I wish I knew why my self  Bonden I think it has to do with 50 megs.com, I used to use MSN for these posts and to store my pics but about a month ago thier service stoped suporting this function, I don't get it either, so I switched to 50meg's.com for this it seams to work prety well most of the time, try coming back after a while and you will see the picture I am shure:)

That plane is the ugliest thing I have ever had to lay my eyes on.    

Was it used for psychological warfare?  Instill an overriding sense of pity in the enemy?  Make them gauge their eyes out to make it go away?  Give them nightmares of having to trade in the 190 for it?

If it's not a French design, it can't be the ugliest. Search for pre-war French bombers. They pretty much stand by themselves, at the top, in the realm of aviation ugliness :)
