Wow! I am in shock at that result. I would never have bet against Sweden.
It is win or die now so it can easily happen to Canada tonight as they play the Fin's. USA has a better time of it against Germany.
The game I would love to see is Russia vs Czech.

At the end of the day, I will be living in Sweden, playing AH, drinking beer and having fun...The Belorussians on the other hand, will be living in a piss-poor country, being brutally opressed by a communist dictator, drinking radioactive water and generally be haveing a miserable time.

The brutal oppression by a Communist dictator must come as some news to citizens of Belarus, since they've democratically elected their head of government since 1995.

Source is the CIA Factbook, which documents plenty of arbitrary government actions within the context of a democratic regime... mainly in relation to business laws and taxation.
In any event, it's petty to berate a country for beating you in a game. I mean, it's not their fault your hockey team sucks. :D

As I said, they have elections, and I suppose that is why they are classed as a democracy. But they have no free media, no real opposition, an old-school-communist "president", you can forget about human rights and individual freedom, they are poorer than dirt, etc etc etc
It puts things in perspective...thats what I meant with my first post. I really shouldn't be squeaking too bad about a lost hockey game, because there are more important things in this world.
And I dont think our hockey team sucks, its frustrating that we wont get to see them play against the US or the Finns...I was kinda looking forward to that.

Another match like that one - and I'll watch final in a hospital with a heart attack...
22 minutes penalty for Russia, and 6 minutes for Czechs!... If there was Canada instead of Czechs - they should have removed all the Russians from the field, again for a "wrong stick angle", like in 1981 Canada Cup.

Belorussians (Bieloroossiya in Russian language, Belarus' in Belorussian) made an outstanding job.
Hortlund, Lukashenko can be a "communist dictator" (which is a standard Western roadkill), but his attention to national hockey team did help ;)
