Is there much performance difference between the 25 and the 30?

This looks stellar... I'm hoping that you are waiting on this planes completion so you can include it in the next 1.03 patch (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

The P-47D-30 we have now matches D-25 data..the D-30 got 300HP more when using WEP.

The D-25 above does look nice, though!

Daff,

I'm pretty sure the D-30 has 2600 hp, the WEP makes a BIG difference!  Perhaps the data doesn't match for a HS prop?

Post by: Daff on July 01, 2000, 08:56:00 PM
That could be it, Wells, but with WEP it still matches the D-25 data.
Also..at that time, the Curtiss prop was also a paddle-bladed prop similar to the HS.
Either way, it should perform a tad better than it does.

Just noticed the FAB Jug has no dorsal fillet, cool.    (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Did the Brazilian Jugs actually wear these markings in WW2 or were they marked as USAAF?

so am i gettin this right the 47 d30 ( the one we have is not correct? as in its to slow ?   i dont know but am curious to see if this is true as i dont have the figures  my books dont metion any change in hp just that 25 s had a bigger fuel tank and 30s had a small dorsal fin forward extention of the fixed one.

there was a 47 d 22 low and med alt that sounds interesting with a different prop.

anyone tested?

You'd think a guy with a historical name would know some P-47 history...

A Brazilian unit flew the P-47 with the USAAF in the Med. theater during WW2.

Who would want to fly it?  Probably Brazilians.

Guys,

First of all... Thank you very much Pyro, I'm just delighted. I'm sure it will increase your market share in here. Congratulations for the wonderful paint job.

For those that don't know the brazilian jug... Brazil flew from tarquinia in Italy and acomplished a great job on ground attack missions. For instance, it was only 5% of the force in the theater and had more than 85% of the bridges destroied.

Besides a RAF unit, Brazilian Squadron was the only other unit to get the US Presidential Citation. I think it deseve some respect also. Of course I understand the fellows in 56th Fighter group and all 8th Air Force, but I'm real happy for this.

  Congratulations!

Yes, Mexico's Escuadrón 201 also flew the P-47 in WW2.  I've got some information on them here (http://ccwf.cc.utexas.edu/~sanchezc/201).  They were originally destined for the European theatre, but they ended up going to the Philippines instead, where they flew many successful air-ground missions in the last few months of the war.

I'm glad to see the Brazilians getting their bird modeled in AH.  My hope is that a future version of AH will support completely customizable paint schemes, or at least different choosable schemes for each aircraft, so that every historical squadron with a virtual counterpart is represented.

I grew up in Brasil (spells with an "s") and it is really nice to see them get a plane painted representing a fine combat outfit. I am a 47 dweeb anyway and it will be grand to be able to fly a version that has some personal history involved in it. No, I never flew in WWII, but the association to a country I called home for 16 years is more than enough for me.

Now, if I can get my two youngest brothers that were born down there to fly AH...:-)

There is another that is maintained in a square in Curitiba city...

In my city (Juiz de Fora) there was an aerial demonstration and they were exposing a motor Wright Cyclone R2800... Boys, the cylinders seem pots!

There is a good write up on this squad in the Wings of Fame Volume #16.  Has some great pictures and info on the guys, pretty good stuff.  Even a picture of the plane pyro has modelled.  The one in the book has the squad badge and what looks like mission symbols along the side, like the photo Dune posted.

Dunno if its been posted yet:
One of the original aircraft handed over on 28October44 and flown by Rui Moreira Lima, who flew 94 combat missions with the 1st BFG.

Zemke, I REALY don't think that you should say that. It's probably one of the most non-sence thing I've ever heard. I'm Proud to say that I'm one that will fly that "south-american" marked P-47. 'Cos I'm from that "south-american" country, and above all, because I know something (that you probably don't), That's called HISTORY. And if you want to take those books from under your bed and read them a little, you will see that, the "south-american" country fought the same war, at the same side of yours. And bleeded as much blood as yours. As RED as "your", so I ask you to PLEASE, THINK before talk or write those silly things.

Sorry all for that but I couldn't just read and let go! And sorry for my bad english too!! :-)

MG, you are a good example in that not only do some things indeed cost more for no apparant reason but due to the total lack of class on your part (and several others from your community) you also show how paying more actually buys you less.   I, for one, see your ranting and raving here and elsewhere only as a sign of your frustration with the current obsolete WB's and also the realisation that WB III isn't going to be all it was cracked up to.
That's the way the dice fell for you..I guess you could say it sucks to be you right now, huh?

Its really nice   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

But, I am wondering, whats so special with the Razorback version, versus the normal P47 ?
I mean, there got to be some difference since there is so many who requests it.

Just wondering   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

BTW, what are those squares on the landscape

Could you please post a picture from your last flight in WB, taken by you ?

Just to check if I can spot any squares on the ground in `your` sim  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Ok.....Im from WB's and am looking to fly AH too.

MacBoy......go take a flyin leap ya little turd.  You are the reason that there is bad relations between AH and WB.  So i'll take the initative for the WB crowd and tell ya to drop it

Try saying what you want about me.........but when little KIDS say something about me.....it doesn't effect.

Sorry Pyro about the tangent here.....Very nice looking plane.  Can't wait to try her  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
