Title: AH needs the P-40B and the B-25!!
Post by: Sixter on February 24, 2002, 03:24:14 AM
Aces High need's the P-40B and the B-25!! If any aircraft deserve
to be in a World War II simulation these two ought to be at the top of the list!! They both made the history book's alone with the
B-17 Flying Fortress, P-51 Mustang, F4U Corsair ,Spitfire's and the
A6M5b Zero!! Hightech make this flight sim complete! Put these
two great birds in the BEST WWII Flight Sim "Aces High"!!

                                                                                Sixter :D

7 or 8 more exclamation points should convince HTC that we really need them.

Maybe something other than U.S planes for change or atleast other markings/variants?

Australian, Italian, Finnish, etc.  would be more interesting IMO.
Ofcourse p40 is nice plane.  P39-q10 in soviet colors would be great. BW-239 Buffalo for finns! :D

The Buffalo would be a great choice, but you will never get that paint job.

Why not?

Actually I would like to see all three (B25, P-40 and the Buffalo) included. And something tells me that one day we will have at least one of those planes and maybe all and more... ;)

With that paintjob BW-239 was more succesful than anywhere else. Averaging over 10 kills per plane(44 buffalos, 494 victories). brewster scores here (http://www.danford.net/scores.htm) Best kill ratio was achieved in 1941 when 135 Soviet planes were shot down against the loss of 2 planes and 2 pilots. At end of war K/D was 30.6:1. Ofcourse Finnish brewster was modified and much lighter and better performing than model 339. What did other nations archieve with Brewster Buffalo?? Losses?

So I should think this paint job is bad choice?

Its not a bad choice, IMHO.  The Brewster certainly did more in the service of Finland than in the US Navy or Marines.

I think Krusher is alluding to the hooked cross symbol, and its similarity to the banned Nazi swastika.   However, maybe he hasn't looked closely at the paint job of the Me109G-2?

Yup, von Rosen cross.

Krusher no need fear that cross. It's old symbol of swedish von Rosen family (who donated first aircraft to finnish airforce.) and has nothing to do with Austrian Corporals. :D

Yes, Australian. Join me in the crusade to get the Boomerang added! I'd settle for the Wirraway if that more realistic. See, Hitech, I can be reasonable.

Even a Beaufort would be ok, we made them on license. The Mossie will tide me over for Aussie made goodness, made some of them on license too.
