Why is this
Kills / Deaths + 1: 2.4505
Kills / Sorties: 1.7154
Kills / Time online: 0.0019
Hit percentage: 0.0442
Points 23841.0335
better than this?
Kills / Deaths + 1: 7.8835
Kills / Sorties: 4.0198
Kills / Time online: 0.0027
Hit percentage: 0.1040
Points 44302.7353
The second one is listet below the first one in the fighter stats.
-
Because Score system is FUBAR.
-
FUBAR? What's that?
If instead of learning abbreviations I would have flown, now I would be a No 1!
-
LOL, hey the second seems my stats!!
Duedel, scoring system is porked since some tours ago, dont worry about it.
-
Simple, stay online longer, kill more stuff, get more points. The scoring system is still very much based on how much time you spend online. If it was totally based on the stats you mention, somebody with a single sortie that lasts 10 seconds where they shoot a single plane and don't miss with a round would be the top. You need a combination of the two, which is what HTC uses. Hence your stats are important, but how much killing you actually do is also a big part of the scoring system.
BTW FUBAR means "F***ed Up Beyond All Repair" or sometimes the last word is "Reconition".
There is also SNAFU, "Situation Normal, All F***ed Up"
and TARFU "Things Are Really F***ed Up"
Heh. :)

Problem is you can have better in everything, more kills and better in all stats including more hours flown and more points, and still, someone with everything worse and less hours flown and les spoints can be ahead of you.
Lephturn, check CT Tour 2, fighter ranks. Compare my stats with the guy ahead of me, why is he ahead of me?

Hehe yes it's your stat mandoble (nice one!).
Thx for enlighten me about FUBAR but was it really necessary to bring on 2 new abbreviations (abbr.) that now I have to learn? Slowly i begin to believe that all these abbr. are invented by the "old pilots" who are afraid that the newbies are learning to fly too fast. So they masterminded all these cute shortcuts and the newbies have to spend precious time on learning them instead of flying. :D
But back to the Stats. Lephturn your statement about time online is reasonable but Mandoble spend about >40 hours online (fighter) while the other one only spend 32 hours. So I'm a little bit confused now.

Duedel, Kills Per Time ratio is the way to evaluate online time efectiveness. More time online will give you more points, but not better K/T ratio.
-
Yep I know but all points K/D, K/ T, time online, ... say you are better so ...
-
Check mine in CT check mine in CT! Seriously, why am I #2 and he #1? SUrely there are people ranked worse then I am in there with better scores, FUBAR!
-
Maybe it depends on the account name. "MrHanky" (it's this little brown thing from Southpark i guess) is way cooler as "Wilbuz" :p
That would also explain why I'm am at place 306 :D

heres the break down (even though I have made this same post 50 times)
Overall Fighter rank is a combination of your individual rank in 5 categories.
for example (the ranks I am just pulling out of thin air to prove a point)
Kills / Deaths + 1: 2.4505 you rank say 10 th
Kills / Sorties: 1.7154 you rank 30 th
Kills / Time online: 0.0019 you 30 th
Hit percentage: 0.0442 you rank 15 th
Points 23841.0335 25 th
so 10 + 30 + 30 + 15 + 25 = 110
Kills / Deaths + 1: 7.8835 this guy ranks say 1 st
Kills / Sorties: 4.0198 this guy ranks 1 st
Kills / Time online: 0.0027 rank 10 th
Hit percentage: 0.1040 rank 1st
Points 44302.7353 rank 1 st
1 + 1 + 10 + 1 + 1 = 14
The guy that scored 14 would rank higher then the guy with 110.
If 14 is lower then everyone else he will be ranked 1 st. If 10 guys score lower he will be 11 th. If the 110 has 50 guys score lower he will be ranked 51.
The second guy in your post would outrank the 1 st guy in every category. There should be no question as to why he ranks high.
Overall rank is a combination of
fighters
attack
bombers
gvs
say you rank
fighters 1
bombers 100
attack 1
gvs 1
= 103
and I rank
fighters 25
bombers 25
attack 25
gvs 25
= 100
My overall rank would be higher then yours
We have ten base categories that are scored at the end of each sortie depending upon your mission type. Only air categories are scored for fighter mission types, ground categories only for bomber mission types, and both air and ground are scored for attack, vehicle, boat and field gunner mission types.
Air Categories
Kills per Death
Kills per Sortie
Kills per Time
Hit percentage
Air points
Ground Categories
Damage per Death
Damage per Sortie
Bombing percentage
Ground points
Field captures
Formulas
Air Categories
1. Kills per Death = TotalKills / ((Discos * 0.5) + Bails + Captures + Deaths + 1)
2. Kills per Sortie = TotalKills / TotalTourSorties
3. Kills per Time = TotalKills / TotalTourSortieTime
4. Hit percentage = TotalTourBulletsHit / TotalTourBulletsUsed
5. Air points = PlaneDamageScore + KillScore
Ground Categories
6. Damage per Death = TotalDamage / ((Discos * 0.5) + Bails + Captures + Deaths + 1)
7. Damage per Sortie = TotalDamage / TotalTourSorties
8. Bombing percentage =
(TotalTourBombsHit + TotalTourRocketsHit + TotalTourTorpedosHit) /
(TotalTourBombsUsed + TotalTourRocketsUsed + TotalTourTorpedosUsed)
9. Ground points =
(DamagePointsScoredOnObjectsTh isSortie * DeathMult) +
TotalTourDamagePointsScoredOn Objects +
(DestroyedPointsScoredOnObject sThisSortie * DeathMult) +
TotalTourDestroyedPointsScore dOnObjects
10. Field captures = FieldCapturesThisSortie + TotalTourFieldCaptures
TotalKills are just air-to-air kills for fighter missions, air-to-air + air-to-ground kills for all other mission types.
PlaneDamageScore =
(DamagePointsScoredOnEnemiesTh isSortie * DeathMult) +
TotalTourPlaneDamageScoredOnE nemies
KillScore =
((AirKillsThisSortie * 1.0) + (AirAssistsThisSortie * 0.25) +
(GroundKillsThisSortie * 1.0) + (GroundAssistsThisSortie * 0.25) * DeathMult) +
TotalTourKillScore
TotalDamage =
(DamagePointsScoredOnObjectsTh isSortie * DeathMult) +
TotalTourDamagePointsScoredOn Objects +
(DestroyedPointsScoredOnObject sThisSortie * DeathMult) +
TotalTourDestroyedPointsScore dOnObjects
Death Multipliers ( these multipliers are only used in determining air points)
Landed 1.0
Discoed .25
Bailed .5
Ditched .75
Captured .4
Killed .25
Crashed . 25

also I forgot to mention the most important part. It seems the ranks are updating properly. They keep the correct scores but ( I know for sure with the squad ranks ) but it fails to update the the ranks properly.
There no way mandoble should be ranked lower then the guys above him in fighter ranks.........
-
Wotan this is a known bug marked some tours ago.
It works as follows:
At the beginning of the tour the ranks go more or less right, but as time passess, some players get stuck suddenly in the firsts possitions, and their ranks are no more updated. If you look at previous tours, the ranks are even funnier.
It seems that this bug affects only to fighter ranks.
-
Wotan, check my Score in the CT tour, and check the guy that is ranked ahead of me (was Mrhanky before). Every, and I mean EVERY single thing, K/D, K/S, K/T, Hit %, Points and Number of kills was BETTER for me, yet he is ranked better, currently RA and MrHanky are ahead of me, together with a guy who has 0 score in everything. i've got better in all excpet hit % then RA, and same K/T.
Please explain.
-
Well I have a ton of hours and kills, and assists, but my ranking is about 1700, and it should be, because my K/D ratio stinks.
I was not aware that time online meant anything. If it does, than I stink even more than I thought I did :(
BTW, can someone explain the OBJ / ENY Scoring thing to me, I dont seem to get a clear explanation anywhere.
Any Hog /pony /Zeke / Jug / Niki / PJ pilots wanna meet in the training arena? I sure could use it :)

Basically, if I understand it correctly  the ENY rating of your plane is divided by the ENY rating of the plane/vehicle you kill. Therefore, the more "uber" a plane is, the lower it's ENY rating.
So, if you are wanting to go build some perk points you launch in a nice high ENY rated plane, say the 109-F4 at a 40 rating. As you climb away over the base, a Yak-9T tries to HO you and your cannons shred him. The kill of the Yak (30 ENY) gives you 1.33 perks (40/30) IF you land. Factors such as bailing, capture, etc. all take their toll on the perk score.
GVs all have ENY ratings too which is why I like using the 109-F4 for PT boat hunting (15 ENY) in those coastal battles (2.67 perks for them gunboats) :D

Thanks, Alpo!
BTW, Ever heard of the Gaines dogfood chain (Ahem....points to self)? :)
