Title: Big <S> to the CT arena crew and participants
Post by: Revvin on February 25, 2002, 09:18:07 AM
I've not been in the CT arena for a while so decided last night to neglect it no more and log in for a sortie or two.

I was first pleasantly surprised by the new terrain then, it looks stunning! the more I saw the more I liked it. Then the feeling of bygone days returned, the days when you'd see two guys each other after a kill, the friendly joshing with someone who just killed you and the discussion's that took place after a fight recounting who did what and where mistakes were made and 6 calls being made often and correctly it was a very refreshing experience. On top of that the careful selection of perk points and the Axis vs Allies setup was very well done so to those in the CT last night and to the terrain creators and the CT crew who set the whole show up (including Pyro who was dweebing around in a 262 :) )

Some of the 13th TAS guys have been flying in the CT and let me tell ya, it's the most fun I've had since I started playing Aces High with beta 1.

Great map, excellent and fair perk system (IMHO), and you actually can get involved in a 3 vs 3 engagement, not a 30 vs 2 the main dweeb arena is famous for.

to all those who put together this diamond in the rough!

This was HBlair's (concept/planeset) and Nuttz' (terrain generation) baby.  Excellent job, guys.

Yup, big to Hblair and Nuttz for the CT setup, and to Hblair's Nuttz for keeping Milenko busy and away from the general public!

CT with 40 is plenty for fun air to air, though it will take at least double that for strat to be of any use or fun.

Fortunately, I am very happy with solid air to air with axis vs allied planeset.

My only complaint is that the allies almost always outnumber the axis, which keeps me from flying allied planes since I believe balanced numbers are critical to having good air to air.

Guess I have to learn to be a better luftwobble whether I like it or not to enjoy the arena I prefer.
