I too would like to see multi-monitor support. However, two would probably be the max number practical. Consider that more than two would require an additional pci video card. Even with a lot of horsepower you'd have a hard time getting a decent frame rate rendering more than two views, especially on a pci card. Still, two would be nice.

More importantly...

Why is this picture in the future? Who zapped back in time? I WANT AN ANSWER!!!

Not everyone in the world using mm/dd/yy format ;)

P.S. I was actually having a laugh at the setup in the pic, look at all the pc's they have running the displays...

True, but to those of us that are, it is definately from the future.

Time travel is easily done, just by crossing a few borders.

some guys were talking with HT about this at the convention last year.  HT said it not an easy thing to do, since most video cards are AGP, and have you ever seen a motherboard with more than one AGP slot?  A setup like this would most likely involve multiple computers.  how many people are going to use eight computers just to play Aces High?? :)

I'd use 2.  Hell, I'm using two now, one of 'em just isn't accessible from AH.  If HT did build in support for it tho', I'd definitely have to find an upgrade for the 8 meg PCI ATI Rage Pro I'm running the second one on.  I'd love to see it tho'.

Ta hell with 1.09 coming out soon, the new bomber stuff, and arguing about killshooter.  I want me second monitor to work now HT, NOW!  gimme gimme gimme!  wookie wookie wookie!!!

My wife would definitely say "either me or those computers go!"

Not to mention just to be able to afford that type of setup.
Wonder if they got that plugged into just one outlet?
Definite fire hazard!!! :D

I have two monitors, one on  a agp-card and a secondary on pci-card.
no big deal to make that work for buisniss or school applications , but guess the problem is programming it into the game ?
But i suuuuure want that to happen how nice to have the backward view on all the time :) no jg54 gonna sneak in then heheh :D

The shoulder harness on the chair is a nice touch. If he had a monitor on the floor for the down view I'd worry about this guy. :D

Guys, the most common way to use multi-monitor support is by using the many dual-head cards out there that support two monitors simply with the one card.  Win2k/XP handles this easily.  In addition, simply adding another PCI card on top of your existing AGP card will give you another monitor to use as well.  No big deal.  In fact, I believe most of the new GeForce 4's support this in the reference design.

That said, there is very little I would find acceptable to allow for multi-monitor use.  Basically, allowing anything other than the radio buffer or possibly the clipboard on the second monitor would not be equitable to the majority who only have one monitor.  Still, I'd love to be able to throw my old Voodoo 3 PCI card in my gaming box and run my toejamty old 15" monitor as my radio buffer.  That would rock.  Now that there are 400+ folks in the main on a regular basis, you almost NEED a full screen radio buffer. :)  Because of the way the clipboard is implemented, I doubt it would lend itself to being moved to a different monitor very well though.

Also it sounds like this is not a trivial thing to do.  Based on the fact that I don't know of any other games that support dual monitors, I'm thinking it's a difficult trick to make it work.  I think MS flight sim does this, but that's the only one I could think of.  If it was something quick and easy, I'm sure you'd see this feature popping up as a bonus in lots of games..... the fact that it doesn't suggests it's quite difficult.  I'd rather have a P-47N or the new bomber updates instead. :)

Or even a small LCD screen mounted on top of your main monitor to be used as a rear view mirror.

Whose the tard who set that up?

For the price of those PCs and monitors you could buy a proper VR Headset (as in something above the spec of a VFX-3D)... much more immersive, plus you get views above, below, and behind.

How great would it be for building a real simulator.

multiple display support works with no problems... And actually, who said that both images need to be 3D accelerated. I would like to see a 2nd display (2D only) support for radio chat and clipboard map....  Or maybe some extra 2D gauges? :D

Yup, just what I was thinking!  :)  Mako, have you got a really good sun-tan??  ;)

I hear that the Matrox G1000 is out this month but apart from the 256mb DDR RAM and the dual 550 RAMDAC, I believe it also has dual monitor support like the older G400.  Sounds nice eh?!
