Tony,
Any idea what sort of ordinance would be available to the Allies in and around the invasion of Sicily?
Were rockets available? 1000lb bombs on Jabo's?
Most action reports I've read only mention 500 lb'ers.

Rocket Projectiles weren't used until mid-1943 I think, firstly on the Hurricane IIB before they were used on the Typhoon, Mosquito and Beaufighter. I think late 1942/early 1943 saw more aircraft being able to carry the 1000lb instead of the 500lber.
