My joystick seems to be "spiking", e.g. random signals that AH is interpeting as full stick in one direction. Basicly my plane is bouncing back and forth and I am getting 1/4 second read and blackouts. My guns also fire short bursts of their own accord and my view sometimes switches to the rear for 1/4 second. I have tried recalibrating it in both Windows and AH.
When I test the stick in Windows it is not exhibiting any of these behaviors.
I'd appriciate any info on this.

So let me get this right, Hangtime, you decide who HiTechCreation's customers are?
Did they approve this position for you?

Hi Karnak,
Whenever asking a technical question about computers, you are much more likey to get a useful answer if you give as much information about your system and the issue as possible. I would suggest you post again in the Hardware & Software forum and include system specs, make and model joystick, OS,vid drivers and DX version etc.
One point off hand is to try DX7a if you havent as it resolves some issues of spiking with digital sticks and has improved force feedbsck support. Just a suggestion (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Hi,
It's not a Sateik Cyborg by any chance is it?
If so read the post in Technical help.

No, its a F22 Pro/TQS with the StickWorks Digital Upgrade chips connected through a Sound Blaster Live Platinum.

Can't help much with TM stuff (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
But do you see the stick spiking in the small WIN9x window? Any chance of obtaining a game card versus using the soundcards port?

You guys..... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)
Anyways, his problem isn't that unusual. Warbirds does the same thing. The fix is easy....
My computer, control panel, game controlers, advanced tap, UNCHECK poll with interupts.
The other weird problem that Warbirds, and now Aces High has is the joystick hatswitch firing the guns (actually the hat is pushing combos of the other joystick buttons....i.e. Hat left = button one and button three simultaneously). To fix that little problem the easiest way is to re-install two files from Direct-X 3. Vjod.vxd and Joy.cpl files in the C:/Windows/system folder. I have them and will e-mail them to anybody who asks (they are quite small at 32k zipped up).
Hans.

I have the exact same equipement including the soundblaster live, TQS and F22, and the answer is both to uncheck poll with interupts and also to only choose a 3 axis 2 button stick in the Control Panel set up. If you have rudders check that, but ignore the hat it will work fine.
Your real problem is using the sound card joystick port as your gaming port. This is a well known problem that will get worse and it is documented on the Thrustmaster site.
They, of course, recommend that you get their game card, but I would strongly recommend you get a PDPI L4 from Pacific Digital. This card will allow you to recheck poll with interupts and provide you with excellent on line response.
Good luck

I meant I have no idea what his problem is...
...with the joystick.

Hang we knew that ask Hairball for the answer. Hairball the better pilot anyway.

Hangtime, sorry about jumping at you, but I've been pretty toasted here recently and when I saw your "no" was in caps I took it to me "NO I won't help".
My apologies, sir.
Hans, thanks for the tip.
RangerBob, unfortunately, with the digital chips, I'm not sure if it'll work with a game card.
