I very much live in the past.
My best friends are the same people I have known and hung out with since the 4th grade.
I own a 1980 Corvette and play my late 70s and early 80s music.
My weapons of choice that I own were all designed prior to 1965:
AR15, M1911, and assorted swords.
I play games that let me simulate WWII and 80s combat.
I went back to school in spring of 2000 to finish the degree I started in spring of 1987.
I still have and wear some clothes from when I was going to school in 1987-89. The new clothes I have are very similar to what I have been wearing since the 6th grade.
When I shave and have a short haircut, I even look a lot like I did in high school beyond being a little taller, heavier, and a few gray hairs.
I have even re-surfaced one of those old AH threads myself :)
My life is just a continous loop of my past experiences. But like the movie Ground Hog Day, I keep the parts I like and try to change the parts I don't. Someday, I may finally get it 100% right.

I left out a few details:
I never have owned a Sega, Nintendo, or any other console game since my first one still has the best gameplay and works fine: Atari 2600
My first computers are still operational:
Timex Sinclair 1000
Timex Sinclair 2068
I had to get rid of all my models when I graduated high school, but right now I have nearly every model I had as a kid and then some, only this time they are almost all in 1/48 scale. You should see the B-1 and SR-71 in 1/48 compared to a Fokker Dr. I, WWII fighters, and an F-15... my ceiling is a miniature air museum starting with the Wright Flyer all the way to the Starship Enterprise NCC 1701 plus Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and Space 1999.
I don't have to sing about not wanting to grow up (and be a Toys R Us kid), I obviously never did. The only real change is I don't get carded and grow a beard if I don't shave.
When I find something I like, I never get bored or tired of it.
I finally progressed beyond models of my favorite car... still working on the real-life airplane angle :) Any body know where I can get a P-51 or an F-4 dirt cheap? :D

If driving a 65 GTO, singing to the Troggs, then I guess i live in the past.
( although i do have a cd player and a Top hits of '65 CD) purely for the amience.:)
OK, heres me in 1981..and my car I drove to work today....I guess i do live in the past!
Although i miss the 68' 400 Ram air of the blue one and the Munchie M-23

Is that a mustache or do you have a big mouth NUTTZ ... and what's the A-Team's van doing behind your car? :D
-
Nutzz you look absolutely cool!

Lock up yer daughters...the "hood" with the muscle car is coming!
:D
kidding Nuttz....

Pontiac GTO, sweet!
2000 GTP here. Best ride I ever had, no Kirby for the driveway required.
(Hate the interior dash except the heads up display, but Johnny Benson drives one, and you can ruin the front tires if traction control is selected OFF)
-
Former 67 GTO Convertible owner here...nice ride Nuttz:)
400 Ram Air and that Muncie made a nice marriage! My 400 was bored .30 over and blue printed....no substitution for horsepower:)

"...Ram Air and that Muncie..."
It's MUNCHIE! :)

I keep telling everyone that New Kids on the Block will be back "You just wait!" Nate says I'm living in the past, and insists that El Debarge is minutes away from a comeback.

The ultimate era..
1.You owned a *real* Rubik's cube.
2.One word: Izod.
3.You remember when MTV didn't exist. Alternatively you remember when the M stood for Music, not Mundane.
4."Alternative" music actually was...and not popular Top 40 tunes.
5.You were a "wanna be". Madonna, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Boy George, etc.
6."Where's the beef?"
7.You know how to use a rotary phone.
8.Max Headroom was cool.
9.You know how (or wanted to be able) to Moonwalk!
Atari, IntelliVision, TelStar and Coleco were the ultimate gaming systems to own.
10.Leg warmers and headbands alá Pat Benatar once looked really cool to you.
11.You remember when Jordache jeans with a flat-handle comb in the back pocket was cool.
12.Jelly bracelets & shoes!
13.Your hair defied gravity.
14.You are still baffled by the "day glo" clothing trend.
:D

"I keep telling everyone that New Kids on the Block will be back... Nate says ... El Debarge"
You're both losers. Menudo will surely rise above those two and soon!

Damn, another detail I missed:
My Rubik's cube. I can still solve it, though some combinations take me a while to remember the moves.
...Karma, karma, karma... chameleon...
