This BBS is hopping through the week, especially during working hours...
And yet on weekend it dies... I realize weekend = family time and therefore the popularity of the BBS may drop some. Or is it just that ya can't play while in front of the PC at work so weekend is playtime not post time??
I know we aren't all self-employed or 'the boss'
Does he know?

Nope, they don't know
And I'd rather reply on their dime :)
-
My boss is a real jerk, but he does not mind me posting here during the work day :D.
-
I telecommute :) They even pay for my Web connection.

Are you kidding me?
This site is blocked from my workplace :) however, a little HTTP TCP packet tunneling thru the proxy server never hurt anyone.
-
i use to come here all the time at the job. But since i quit that job and went back to manual labor i cant come here but on the weekends.
-
The days the AH BBS were down were the longest days I ever spent at work :) I'm my own boss at a gov't job.....you can figure out how much I actually do hehe.
-
I hear ya Raub on that one. Loved my cushy Gov job :)

Same for me Skuzzy :D

Scripts do most of my work, and a wheeled chair allows me access to the 4 or 5 test boxes around my cubicle (NOW I know why my hair fell out! ), so generally this is the only time I have to post, start a script, retrieve data from already run scripts, post on the BBS, run another script, answer calls, go to meetings. Rinse and repeat.
Do they know I'm here? Probably...but beta test results, dink testing, customer support is the bottom line, if that's getting done, doesn't really matter.

Rip!!
Checked out your car! but I have to ask... damn you got it nice and shiny, but then you put a BRA on it???
Its been my experience that paint 'fades' differently between under the bra and not. Also dust and sand can get under the thing and wear away at that nice paint job...
Beauty garage too... one would wonder if you are anal about cleanliness lol +)

BMW paint is reknowned to be "softer" than American Farm Machinery paint (Ford, Chevy, Dodge)...I started getting little micro chips on the hood line, I only use the bra when there is no rain, right after a wash (It gets washed once a week). As long as you don't use the bra in the rain, and use it only on a clean surface, they work great. I figured we get 100 days of sunshine a year here in the PNW, so I've reduced those new microchips by 33% ;) I too hate bra's, but found it necessary in this case. Looked at the clear bra's by 3M and for $300, you can experiment with them in YOUR car! :)
As far a paint fade, that's the first account I've heard of that (and I LIVE on the Detail website BBS's) I plan to own the car only 4 years, so my primary concern is to keep it in showroom condition, then I'll get alittle more money for it when I sell it outright for my next car, a 333 hp M3. :D
-
Hmmmmmm... M3....
73,500 here in canada eh!!, 83,500 for the convertible...
sigh.. i'll keep driving the parent's pontiac
The fade issue isn't gonna be one if you don't leave it on full time i'd imagine.

$47,500 without any options here, the only thing I'd add is SMGII (Roughly $3000) and a moon roof. Of course, by 2005, this price will have changed. Its still my goal..unfortunately I ordered my 330 too soon, as now I can afford the M3 car payment, but can't justify selling the 330 right now, I'd lose too much.
Thanks for the compliments! Its a fun hobby, and hard work keeping her in show room condition!
Here's where I'll be come August!

My brother did that last year, but with a sports car club here (we live real close to Mosport)
He has a blast, though he drives a Toy Corolla GTS RWD.
Dad bought me a day of Dirtrack school (motorcycles ) oh at least 5 yrs ago, i soo looked forward to it, I drove 3 hrs to get there only to be rained out +(
BUT!! it looks like I have a early 70's RD 350 yamaha lined up which I would like to prep for vintage racing one day +)

Cool! Racing brings the adrenline level up! Almost as much as skydiving~!
-
Ahhh,..racing...you are correct. The fastest I have ever managed was 196.7mph on an oval track (300ZX TT, heavily modified). It is simply amazing. Talk about an adrenline rush!
One day I really want to break that 200mph barrier though.

The straight away at Pacific Raceway (Used to be Seattle International Raceway) only allows about a 125-150 mph jaunt before you have to start breaking for the next corner (see map here) (http://www.proformanceraceschool.com/_uimages/PRtrackmap.jpg). Sounds like fun Skuzzy! Whew!
-
bah 300ZX at 199mph...
Try 122mph in an MG Midget!! errm with 3 ppl in it lol
When I were just a wee lad my Uncle was an avid racer. He took me and my brother fer a ride +)
At one point he even had two 3 wheeled Morgan race cars undergoing overhauls in the driveway.
And ermm they were designed that way....

Lol Skurj and no thanks. I was nervous enough doing the speed I was doing in a full racing harness and helmet.
That is a neat track Ripsnort. What is it, a half mile loop? Looks like if you vould get a good line from 3B to 6, you could push it, only if 7 and 8 are banked.
Is it a flat track? Dang,..I love a good track.
-
2.2 miles Skuzzy, I've been out there watching them race for years, but this will be my first time actually on this track. Will post pics and let you know in August, unfortunately, I'm again giving up the Con to pursue something else this year :( Damn hobbies, so little money, so little time for everything. :(
-
2.2 miles! Uhmmm,,,from turn 9 to 1 should be about 1/4 mile then. You should be able to get above 150 and brake in time for turn 2. Well,..I am assuming a car that can get to 100 in the 11 to 12 second range from zero.
Is turn 2 banked? What angle?
I would love to put some rubber on this track.

Ya, thats what I meant, with MY car, only capable of 125-150 (going by what other 330 drivers tell me)...Turn 2 in not banked, if it is, its very slight.
-
ACK! Hijacked and taken to race car land!
-
lol.....whats an employer?

Selfunemployed !!

I don't post on weekends because I have to spend my weekends in County Jail for the next several months. And judging by the tone of some of my fellow posters I assume I'm not the only one who spends weekends playing cards and talking about how not to get caught at miscreant behavior at the local County Correctional Facility.
Sometimes the law makes no sense. My job in jail is to milk the county dairy herd, but it was a cow that landed me here in the first place... Now I double check the barn door the barn door to make sure it is closed completely before I spend some quality time with a cow.
