Title: outrage
Post by: Hangtime on September 13, 2001, 05:26:00 PM
I've spent the last 2 days and nights in NYC... the aftermath is beyond anything I've ever seen.

7 friends of mine are missing. All NYC firefighters. 4 from engine Co. 3.

Pray for all of them, please.

The general feeling among the rescue workers is outrage.. anger... determination to find those who are missing. THEN they want to find those responsible.

Never liked NYC much.. but I'm in utter amazement and awe of those guys at Ground Zero... never been so proud to be an American as I am right now.

No time to read the boards.. heading back again tonight; just wanted to let u guys know that we ain't licked.. and never will be. Yammamoto's "Sleeping Giant" is back.

And this time he's truly pissed off.

Put your flags out gents... show 'em who they're messin with.

Glad to hear from you Hangtime.

I'll keep the rescue workers in my thoughts. I am still hoping for more miracle rescues.

We'll get the excrement that did this.  They have no idea what the just called down on themselves.  Something like this would defeat America?  HA!!!  We don't roll over, its just not in us.  We won't rest until we get them all.

Good to hear from you Hang.

Tell the workers how proud we are of them.

Chorus
Over there, over there,
Send the word, send the word over there--
That the Yanks are coming,
The Yanks are coming,
The drums rum-tumming
Ev'rywhere.
So prepare, say a pray'r,
Send the word, send the word to beware.
We'll be over, we're coming over,
And we won't come back till it's over
Over there.

I'll reenlist for this one if they'll have me.

I'd like to see some of the bleeding hearts tell Hangtime to just "Do Nothing" and it will just all go away as some on the boards have suggested.  He is at ground zero and has probably seen more horror in 2 days then any of us will see in a lifetime.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you Hang.

Hantime I'm greatly relieved you are ok!  I have been watching the boards for some kind of response from you.

I will be thinking of the victims and especially the family and friends left behind......

From abroad the one thing that comes across very strongly is the bravery and generosity of the US people, but the emergency services in particular.  I was looking at some photos on skynews from inside one of the towers after the plane crash and before the collapse, and those firefighters were running up the stairs, propably knowing that they were putting their lives in serious danger, but saving others seemed more important to them.  Those guys are a shining light to people all over the world.  Thankfully its a light that those sick bastards who carried this out can never extinguish.

You are an example to all, please remember this over the next few weeks while you have to do a job that no-one envys.

There are no more words.
Glad to see your OK hangtime, keep the chin up.

Biggest <S> ever.

With you in spirit, sorrow and sympathy Hang. I cannot find adequate words for your missing friends and the agony of their families.

Also with you in admiration for the people of NYC. The sense of unity, courage and sacrifice is deeply inspirational to us all.
