Post by: Am0n on March 11, 2002, 11:44:54 AM
Stupid microsoft.. Youd think since they have half of the worlds money in there pocket they could make decent products.

But that not being the case my silly microcrap twisty stick went belly up on me.

Its beeen over 2 weeks!
I got DT's over here!!

having nightmares of 109's and 190's bouncing my jug and all the sudden i have no stick authority! make it stop!! AAAHHHHHH!!

*if you just tuned in amon really wants to play some AH*

Ok now that i got that out of the way, stay up guys! and dont let my p47 get to dirty and if you could keep HiTech away from it! last time he was seen near her i found a greasey monkey-wrench lodged in the manifold.... sabatoged!! :o

I'll be back shortly, as soon as i can get the stick i WANT and not the one i can offord *curses stupid stick*. Hopefully it wont be more than a few weeks.

See ya

Oh and Amon,...resist using your joystick as a hammer,..it tends to wear them out faster :D.

Amon, be sure to plug in the stick's power connector to a surge protector.

Even a slight voltage change can fry the MS FF sticks.

My neighbor has been through 3 MS FF2's.. he dont have his plugged on a surge protector. Ive had my 1 and only.. and still works like new.

Sure wish I could change the grip... gawd what moron in MS designed it. Ouch.

SKurj

does the cyborg have a rudder? i cant use the keyboard for a rudder, tried before and it confuses my feeble brain

im really considering buying the saitek x45.. but id hate to loose 70$ on another stick thats going to die in less than a year. I should look on the brighter side of things though, with the x45 i could 2 fisted hammer my desk when i die. (dieing only to obvious exploits and cheats of course!) :D

The old X36 had a toggle on the throttle for rudder, I'm not sure if it is in the same location on the X45 but yes it does have a rudder.

Blah, cyborg stinks.  It has twisty rudder, throttle control, and many buttons... but it doesnt last!  Replaced the first one (bad axes all around even after recallibrating 50000000 times, but replaced for free by saitek), second is already wearing thin, the rudder lost a spring or something and the axes are becoming crap yet again.  Do they make x45's for lefties? :)

Hi Am0n,
Yes the cyborg does have rudder. Adjustable to suit almost every hand as well both left & right handed. Mine is an early (Pre Gold) stick and after about 3 years the hat switch is finally starting to play up. Avoid the Gameport version like the plague. More spikes than a porcupine convention in my experience but my USB is still as smooth as silk. There is also a "FFB" version but apart from the name it bears very little in common (Looks or adjustability wise) with the original. (Still either left or right handed though).

Spend $40 and buy a refurbed Saitek X36.  I bought my first one about a year and a half ago and it just crapped out on me.  I can probably fix it but its just too damn easy to just buy another one.  It just arrived today....$45 total shipping and all.
