I've looked in CD Properties and Hardware Properties...How do I get the auto-insert notification off?
In Win95/98, it used to be a nice check-box option.
????
Thanks

From what I can tell you cant. Ive gone into the CD proporties and made each of the selection "take no action" and it still autoruns. In PRO you can change it more easily. In Home Edition I think it requires a reg hack

Have XP Pro

found this:
To Disable cD autoplay, completely, in Windows XP Pro
1) Click Start, Run and enter GPEDIT.MSC
2) Go to Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System.
3) Locate the entry for Turn autoplay off and modify it as you desire.

I found these two articles most helpfull with some GUI type tweaks, and preformance tweaks.
I didnt find I needed all of them, but did use a few. The author mentions XP somtimes missreading the L2 cache size, sure enough XP read my P4 1.8a as having 0 L2. Im not much for goofin with the registry, but I got through any of the ones I felt I needed while reading the article easily.
