depending on the situation i prefer to do combination of a vertical scissors and then switch it up to a rolling scissor. they seem to be the manuvers i know the best. and most of the time work well in forcing an overshoot.
soooo...whats your guys's favorite manuver's to do?
:)

I like to put my head between my knees and kiss my bellybutton goodbye. :)
-
Due to my incredible lack of skill I prefer to try to not get myself into a situation where I have to demonstrate that lack of skill. When I do I generally make a few feeble barrel rolls or occasionally I pull vertical and hope he misses me before getting sent back to the tower.

Vertical scissors and different variations of it.
Useally i pull under attackers cowlining, roll to side and pull up to his side and maybe to his 6. Works fine in 190A which happens to be my favorite plane.
Rolling scissors are good too...but sometimes it leaves me out of options.
-
I prefer the pull the wool over her shoulders manuever. This gives me ample time to scamper to the puter room and lock the door.
-
I prefer to cherry pick, thus reducing my need to even consider a defensive move other than haulin prettythang.
-
In my book, there is no such thing as a "defensive manuever." All manuevers are offensive in nature but vary based on the amount of time required to execute them and the starting position of the enemy plane.
My ultimate goal is to always shoot down the other plane, not to simply avoid it. :)

I sit in the tower and watch the pretty planes fly...
Sometimes, I enjoy popcorn.
I can remember this one time, in band camp...

I cry for help and drag em to the nearest assassin

nose down and run awayyyy!

well hhmmm this requires situational awarness:
what are you in, what is your enemy in, distance and closer rate.
but if your talking bout fairly evenly matched planes and he is right on your arse my favorit is to bank one way or the othere (don't matter whitch) then i start to go oposite and as i do i throw myself into a short stall and pull out quickly then use full wep and depending on my plane a few notches of flaps and kill the bastard following me as he misses and flies by.
Don't always work that way but they almost always miss with the first pass when you throw yerself into a short stall and then they have to work to get behind you again which gives ya a fighting chance. Especially when you get jumped while shooting his friend down :D
but hey we all got our own styles so find what works best for ya and make it a religion. your victories will go up from there.

Barrel roll vs BnZ and Scissors/YoYos for co-e. I'm not yet proficient enough in a rolling scissors.. but I can execute a flat scissor well. Of course if there is more than 1 baddy, best thing for me, is to do the rolling scissors as best I can and look for an escape.
My problem in a rolling scissors is I either:
1. stall the plane trying to line up a shot on an overshoot, or
2. don't get my plane slowed down in time and wind up in worse shape than when I started the maneuver.
I know the source of both problems, and it's inattention to details.
1. the problem is I'm too impatient at that critical moment.
2. the problem is letting my nose drop too sharply when executing the maneuver.

Dancing Swan or Leaping Monkeys style, depending on the situation. Once the enemy has exposed his style, progressing into Skittering Crab allows one to turn the tables.

I tried the Dancing Swan a few times, but it leaves me a little out of reach of my opponent, I prefer the Twisting Spider followed by the Jumping Flea. You should try it, works wonders. Then again, sometimes, the Flatulating Donkey comes in handy.

lol fatty...as rediculus as that sounds it actually makes sence. exposing the guys style.:)
-
Step 1: Roll inverted.
Step 2: Pull Up!

I fly the 38 as much as I can!!!! It has good climb and turn. Use that to ur advange.. If I'm pounced by a BnZer (ie 51 190) Use the turn and climb performance in a climbing spiral. The climbing spiral will bleed the nmes E and it will close some of the Alt gap between you and the nme.. Since a 450mph 51 or 190 can't turn with a 300-275mph 38 w/o blacking out or bleedy his E till he can't zoom back to safety. He dies pretty quik after that.
Now if its a TnBer (ie spit or nik or all the dweeb planes)
I like to do all kinds of crap to make overshoot. I like do flat scissors with rolling reversals. If I'm caught by a higher spit.
I wait till he gets right on my 6. Then when he gets to bout D1.3 or so cut power on both engines start my scissor with a rolling reversal. Pull bout 5 Gs for about 1/3 a turn. Then after he gets back on my 6 bout ready to fire I roll over for another rolling reveral. And pull about 5 Gs. Not long after the 1st couple of reverals he overshoots and I'm right there at bout 175mph with 3 notches of flaps out about the drill his ass!! :) Of course I'm not gonna tell all my tricks. So not get a very good insight into my head :)

My favorite manuver is to simply die thereby denieing the con the opportunity to continue shooting at me.

*whistle* 15 yard penalty for quoting Top Gun in AH

My favorite defensive maneuver is to drag the nme anywhere near Kwan. :)

I turn on my 'Cloaking Device'...... (Oooops, I wasn't supposed to talk about that, Damn!)

.eject (the guy on my 6) :D

One thing which works 100% of time when enemy is on your 6 is the following sequence of defensive moves: high yoyo, roll, half split-S, vercical scissor, enter 3 times,
on channel 1.

Well...
It's all I had
I don't have a regular defensive maneuver let alone a favorite one.

The best way to clear my six is to fart.

I shoot him out of the sky. Easy. What a silly question ;)
-
LOL......... thanks POP :}
I'll clear your 6 anytime.........
-
here i'll give ya serious one
it's basicly up to the angle and speed that the nme comes in at; you have to base your moves on this.
if i can lead him right or he happens into the zone ... i'll do a short dive to right at d1.2 or so once he closes a bit i'll do a snap roll up or down, depending on con's angle into rolling siccior: this quick over the top pull will thorw some cons off so much they pull off i can rush right agin dead con  (if they the smarter type well i better keep moveing :D
-
I use the old smoke and flames routine. Sometime I throw in the old severed wing trick. Hey, It works for me. They just move on to other dweebs.
-
I wait until there about 800 off my six and open up with all the 50 cals. Oh wait, we aren't talking B17s here.
Back in my JG2 days, I used to try the ole warp roll in my trusty 190. If that failed, I keep trying it :D

You guys have missed the best defensive maneuver of all time:
Fly the Hog 1C and single ping the guy with an ho at 1000 yards :)
-
talking of HO's (SW gay hamsters aside) ive starte to perfect the lead shot burst in excess of 1k up to 1.3k with immediate corkscrew evasive.
If hilarious to watch those spit dweebs fire at you missing by inches but flying right through your stream of bullets to take that shot :)
usually they get so pissed off they make horrendous e sapping moves to get their revenge :D.
evasive? I use the corkscrew/barrel with hi yoyo then angled break turns or dumby moves to throw the faster diving opponent.
Be aware of where his nose is pointing and when you are out of their sight (under their cowling or underside) switch/change moves.#1 RULE: be unpredictable.change from vert to flat manouvers as much as you can.(if your ride is capable in both)
Split S when someone fast dives on your 6.If youre luucky they will zoom up. roll out of your incomplete manouver and take your snapshot under their belly. This is my favourite manouver in 190s.
usually its followed by a huge whinge like 'thats impossible' or 'how did you have the E' etc :D which kinda adds to the whole experience :) but its merely them 'assuming' you have dived out. They see you dissapear under their nose and they zoom for their next attack.
'assuming' in AH will get ya killed :)

Muahahah, my method is a secret :D

I use a sowcow or triple lutz..... (too much Olympics I guess)
