"...on Monday, May 20th the Fighter Ace 2.5 game on the MSN Gaming Zone will end."
I imagine most that can move to FA 3 will, if they have not already with the free FA3 beta, however the very large jump in system specs to do that may leave a large number in the lurch.
Of those I bet many will head to WB 2.7x/ III as WB's has a true "easy mode" environment (they have FO, the ACA and it's on in the WB III MA). And I would dare to venture that many who may have liked AH but had not left FA due to friends/squadswill come to AH now so AH may see a large increase in players too.
(Perhaps the few ex-AW folks, who remained in AH after coming here in what I would call a "loud manner", may get to see first hand for themselves what it was like to experience a sudden 'potatoe famine' influx :) )

Sounds like a mercy killing :)

I saw nothing wrong with the influx of AWers here, and I'll see nothing wrong with an influx of FAers. More players is a good thing.

Who said anything was "wrong" at all?

What a shame... they'll be here too late to take part in "Invasion: Sicily." :D
-
With the lottery they wouldnt make it anyway. With registration at 380 even new guy that registers decreases his odds...........
-
Bring on the new guys....
I might get some kills.

"Who said anything was "wrong" at all? "
Didn't mean to imply that anyone was saying that, just speaking for myself here.

Ohhhh Gawd...and you thought the AW dweebs were bad. :D

Ya lost me here Westy....did you mean that only a few ex-AW's stayed, or that only a few were loud?
-
"just speaking for myself here."
Rgr. Thought you may have believed I was being subtly derogatory.
Fortunately lots of AW's stayed Midnight. I refer to many loud and "boisterious" ex-AW's who fell on these AH boards last fall, like a proverbial 50 ton dead carp, in a lame attempt to mark territory. They are few in number, if any at all, now.
And AKWabbit is a bad bunny. A vewwy BAD bunny ;)

hmm, your math be a little off there. ;) 380 people signed up before I did. everyone has a 250/380 chance to get in, but I have a 0 chance to get in. I sign in, everyone drops to 250/381 and I go up from 0/381 to 250/381. now, my odds go down with each subsequent person that signs up (which is what I think you were trying to say), but even if every one else in the world signed up, my chances are still higher than if I didn't sign up. :)

Westy, who taught you to spell "potato?" Dan Quayle? Intresting correlation, BTW, given the massive backlash and predijuce against Irish Immigration in America.
I've only been posting here for a month or two, I am from AW, I am loud, politically incorrect and obnoxious, weigh close to 50 tons and have been told I smell like a dead carp, so I recognize myself in your generalization of "many" AW refugees.
I also recognize that you, judging from your post, were one of the "few" schmucks who ran a constant line of BS on the MA text buffer criticizing the AW refugees like we actually were really different and, thus, inferior to the AH crowd. Hey, I caught that line of smug, self serving tongue clucking BS from some AH vets directed at the AW newbies, and in fact I listened to it long enough to decide to play H2H instead of MA to avoid dealing with some of you. Why spend my money on listening to THAT crapola?
It's a good thing not every AH player has Westy's attitude towards new users or maybe it would have been Aces High instead of Air Warrior that got EA-Commed. Sadly, though, I'm sure that AH players migrating to AW would have suffered the same ridicule as we did migrating here to AH.
Personally I will offer to share what limited knowledge I have with anyone who wants to know, I will refrain from calling Newbies "stupid" or "dumb" because they're here from a discontinued sim, and will keep in mind that the NEXT flight sim to go might be this one.

lol. Better use a "spWel chEqUer" (as well as a punctuation and "when to use caps guide") yourself if you want to start off with a grammar flame next time. That was lame.
As for the your post? It's very obvious that you have no idea what I was talking about (JAB would) and hence your reply sounds like you're out in left field.
FYI I'm very happy that many, many AW's came to AH. At the same time I definately wish it had stayed a viable entity so that a small minority of ex-AW players that we all have to endure now could have stayed there. However you also won't see me shooting the crap on chnl 1 talking down about AW, WB's or FA. On these web boards? sure. This is the bar aka the meeting place to shoot the toejam about things like that. But when I'm online I enjoy AH for what it is. If I'm in the MA (and not the CT) I usually squelch chnl 1 for not only the baloney you refer to but other jeuvinile sh&t as well. The MA reminds me of an AW 'RR' arena gone amock now. Which, while we always had some of this in AH it has also increased 10 fold as the numbers in AH skyrocketed up.

Gee! Do you think they will fly brit planes, and HO everything in sight. Now that would be unusual

Ive been prowling the skys here in AH for over 6 months now . and yes I'm an old FAer as matter of Fact im still The XO of the 242nd squadron of the RAF 11th Group in Fighter Ace (70 members in the group)
I guarrantee that there gonna be an influx of players from FA2 into here very soon . (I personally have brought 15 players over here and 2 have subbed and are in the MA )
And one note about the FA croud we are used to playing with a code of conduct in that game ..(no Swearing ,personal attacks ,ectera the repercussions was getting banned from the game) so the squelch option wont be used very much on them .
So watch ur 6 All

Most FA'rs won't go for a full real arena - that's why they played FA. Most of those who DID want a realistic game (like us) came here a long time ago, because the FA 'realistic' is a piece of crap. There will be a couple that show up, hopefully some of the good guys I remember, but not the influx we saw with AW.

They are already coming - got asked yesterday "How do you get rid of the cockpit?" :P
