Whats this, and why would someone call it "song bird"?

Cessna UC-78.  Songbird was the name of the plane on a TV show.

Yep, SkyKing flew one before he moved up to a Cessna 310.

Songbird was the name of the plane that Sky King flew on the TV show of the same name. I don't know if he started out in the bird you pictured but I DO know he later flew a Cessna 310.

Good show for young pilots to be.  :)

You guys are freakin awesome!! Yep it was Sky King's plane for a while. Also known as the bamboo bomber.
