Title: AH Voice Tutorial?
Post by: eskimo2 on March 14, 2002, 12:00:53 PM
I never messed with AH Voice when it was in the beta mode and know nothing about how to use it.  Can someone point the way to the help info?
Or if it's simple to set up and use, please just describe how to make it work in this thread.

Thanks,
eskimo

Eskimo..

in setup just map the two commands:

radio channel

range channel

(either to your keyboard or joystick)

radio channel (can't remember if this is exaclty what it's called, but it's right above the range channel in setup) is channel V (or channel 5).. like RW..
set it to a channel, have your squadies join in,
and Channel 5 is what you use...

range channel is for all friendlies in range
use it for your room, etc.. it isn't channel specific but will
instead contact all those within range, regardless of radio channel (above)

Eskimo...

mic channel : keys mic for radio channel 5 or V (voice)

mic range : keys mic for all pilots in range or room

mic channel broadcasts to all pilots on your side that use the same channel 5

Bongo, I'm in the same boat you're in. In RW all can hear me....AHVoice I'm very low with everything turned up. I'm using a SB Audigy soundcard. Wonder if it's certain soundcards that have a problem with it?

haven't read the whole post but on the mic volume...

you mention adjusting it in AHvoice ... how about your system/sound card settings..

you have the mic record level turned up?
(not the mic/speaker level)

So what should I have when my radio5 is tuned to "squad" ??? I only saw outsiders on "channel" list. The channel list changed though when tuned to country or all. How does this thing work?

When your sitting in the tower you will see other people in the same tower in the room. This is also the same for map room and the hangar. they all seem to be considered seperate rooms.

You can talk to these people using the range voice button.

When you takeoff, the room changes to whoever is within your icon range.

When you set the radio 5 channel, you can talk to anyone else on that same channel. SO if its set to 1, you will be able to talk to anyone else that also has the radio set to 1. You should set this to whatever your squad uses and use the 'channel' voice button to talk on it.

You will still hear people in your room and your channel at the same time, I dont think theres a way to turn off the room.

Thanks

Is it necessary to tune the radio5 to some specific numbered channel??? Some other countrymen could be using the same number.....

Should not the "squad" selection in radio5 work for that?
