'the base is under attack..."
repeated 300x times an hour.
Yankee, I love you, but dammit; we're bish and you state the obvious. I changed the name of the file to render it inop.
I sat in the tower for 30 min trying to figure out how to get rid of the voice window.. the finally gave up in disgust and got on the runway. *wallah* window dissapeared. it's the lil things that make yah nuts.
Next thing to go were the voice chimes and the room voice... i hope... i wonder if we're gonna be able to block room voice via .squelch?
Am I alone.. or are there a coupla hundred pilots flyin around listening to yankee's sexy voice cooing 'base is under attack' repeated every 10 sec... oh; wait; not everybody is a bish... ;)

The first thing i did was increase the EFFECTS volume in AHV.
Then renamed warning.wav.. I really do not understand why this was ever implemented...

Agree on the first point
And the autostart AH Voice.
I had to crank my speakers way down since for over an hour, all I was hearing was (asides my engines volume getting muted for these morons) "CAN ANYONE HERE THIS? HELLLLOOOO" Over and over again.
1.09 has been one of the best releases so far, I'm usually quick to squeak about what I think are stupid bugs that should've been cleaned up before release. But I love the Ar234s spray-n-pray cannons, and that new Jap bomber is just fun to fly, like the Ju88.
So, asides flying on mute, its been a great release....I'm just hopeful the new maps show up soon!
-
Agreed.
Drove me mad too until I renamed the Wav.
-
(1) "Bithching Betty" (renamed .wav)
(2) Every Voice control off.
-
i think a simple mute check box for the AH voice in both the room and channel.
also, the option to display the AHvoice list (the list of pilots tuned in to AH voice) like we do the clipboard. Sometimes it would be nice to see who is coming and going from the tuned channel while you are flying without having to click the radio text to pop up the AH voice list window.
-
Either way it's just a single button to bring up the window. Tardlett.

I want to second this request. It's nice but it gets REAL old.

The volume slider does not seem to work for that either.

1. Remove warning.wav. Beautiful voice Yankee, but the game did it literally 2-3 times a minute.
2. Replace arrraid.wav with a more "authentic" sounding one.

You know, I don't think it will be too bad once they get some issues worked out... the betty I mean. It's definately useful, but they just need to tweak it so it doesn't repeat so much. It should only kick in for actual decent damage to a field, and then the max frequency needs to be limited maybe. They'll get it sorted out.
Also, I don't think enemy bases that are under attack should flash... only friendly.
So far I haven't disabled anything... but clearly there should be an option to disable AH Voice entirely, and to squelch "room/range" channel as well.
Pretty good overall though. I haven't disabled anything... yet... I'll wait until HT gets a patch or 2 out. :)

Mehehe... do I know HTC or what? :) Told ya!
New patch. :)
HTC, rocks.

All that Barry Manilow music was driving me nuts!
-
I found Yankees drawl as stirring as in person so I had to lose that to concentrate. (Vulcan got some easy kills on me as my eyes rolled back in my head hearing the warning...)Im having a Japanese lady friend of mine record,
"Your bases are bellybutton Joe!" for me with a real heavy accent instead.
-
here's an idea, how about an 'all your base are belong to us' wav play when some1 caps a one of your bases, i know, no real purpose except for fun
-
Same as you guys. That warning voice was sexy, but drove me crazy. Then, somehow, it was replaced with another warning.wav with a man yelling something about bases being attacked. That got deleted too.
Oh, I wnet on a swaring rampage when AH Voice dinnae work as it should.
Unfortunately, it worked at that moment. rdrSLAM and anyone else not from my squad: I apologize.
HTC: AH Voice doesn't work for me if I alt tab: lose both incoming and outgoing stuff then. :).
-
I don't see any problem. I've replaced Yankee's voice with a radio transmission something along the lines of 'Scramble, Scramble - Bandits inbound'.
I'm toying with the idea of using a sample of a bell used at RAF stations in the BoB.
Flashing map icons don't bother me. Flashing enemy icons are very useful - kind of let's you know news of your attack has been relayed to the whole enemy force.
AH Voice rocks. RW never worked for me, but Voice is stable and has made squad comms much easier.
Overall, I think this is an excellent release. HTC.

Hook me up with that .wav when it's done Pongo :D

If you want to disable AHVoice entirely, is't there a Volume slider in the Vox setup ?
